so.... it's a crate motor offering. juat like any other crate motor offering. 502 crate chevy, or 572 crate chevy is the same thing. except with more power.

http://performanceparts.com/part/GM-...mance/1171-611

ZZ502 611hp.

572 has even more.

its still down on torque to a LSA and blown condor.

Maybe I can drop this in my "soon to be here" Super Bee .....but I would be happy with just a tune for my awesome 392's

They are still claiming a Super Charged SRT is in the works also........

I also don't understand the logic behind making a car that is not street legal, intended to go fast down a 1/4 mile track, and then putting 20" wheels on it to hold it back.

I would rather have it in a BASE R/T than the SRT. (CHALLENGER) The SRT is quite a bit more heavy and I really dont care about all the extra crap that comes with the SRT's. I can make a base R/T handle better than the SRT for cheap. As far as the Brembos........I dont care about them either. I want a stripped down car with the big power and add what I want to it myself. Will never happen though.

Beyond the gimmicky "stages", it just seems like they are potentially offering a non-emissions regulated crate engines from their performance parts lineup. Its nice for PR but it will never see a production lineup IMO.

Bingo. And apparently this motor isn't emissions legal so its technically not street legal if you have emissions testing in your area.

You can do better than this with an SRT-8 and the aftermarket, IMO. I can also think of a number of cars I'd rather have for the money.

Anybody consider the fact that you're getting a 590HP crate motor in a four door.......

..........for probably less than what you'll pay for a comparable GM (ZL1)...... or Ford (GT 500)

.........and still be able to slide under the high-performance coupe bar with the insurance

companies....... since the model designation won't change? (Charger R/T)

........I wouldn't even bat an eye at the not street legal statements...

Remember this: " ¹ Not legal on pollution-controlled vehicles or vehicles registered for highway use."

Yep, that's right... That's the disclaimer found on EVERY single Cat-Back in the Mopar Performance catalog.

Did that ever stop Dealers or any of you from installing them... I think not!

I'd rather have a street legal, warrantied CTS-V for the money. It might be slower in a straight line, but the -V will bury it in the twisties.
