Best of luck MOMSREDSS!

Dang ddunerider! Sorry to hear about needing the surgery. Great job on the weight lose, and best of luck on the final 25!

I feel you about the smaller clothes with the 20 I lost I went down one size, it was nice.

In 2003 we had our third & last child. I learned from my first child not to gain so much weight, however... I still need to lose all those extra pounds.

Our middle daughter is engaged to be married this summer... I HATE dress shopping!!! I HAVE to lose weight!!!

My focus will be on portion control, working on getting exercise in my routine & having plenty of fresh veggies ready to eat.

This will be challenging, we are in the midst of a kitchen remodel & I have homework to help our youngest with nightly. I also need to be available to our bride to be (who graduates from college this Spring).

My challenge is before me...
Woo girl sounds like you have a busy life. And I know we want to be there for our family but taking 30mins-1hr a day for yourself is a must. I hope we can provide you with recipes and tips to make it through it all!

Good point/tip Bonnie! I use to do that with my lunch when I worked in a regular office, I would make enough chicken or whatever to last through the week. Working from home now I always figure oh I'll have time to make something, but it's never the case if I get called to a job site I don't end up having the time. I will have to start doing this.

I found in the past when I ate better during the week on my cheat day, my stomach had shrank and I was unable to eat as much as I would normally do when I would go out, plus you stop craving certain things. Sweets is the big one for me that I don't crave, I use to have to have sweetened in my tea of coffee, but over this last year I have slowly come accustomed to having it plain. If it has sweetener in it I can't stand it.

I said I don't watch TV much but that is not entirely true, I do, I just don't watch regularly scheduled TV, I stream them through the internet when I want to watch them rather than one monday night at 8 when it normally shows etc. So now my next task is to figure out what show I want to watch next. I could start at Law & Order Season 1. Seeing as how there are over 11 seasons of the original L&O (not to mention the spin offs) I could have plenty of shows to watch while I am riding my back haha, that should take me through the year easy!
Yup so you need to start making your food ahead of time and having it ready. And on days I have a cheat day I just remind myself, stop eating when you are no longer hungry, dont gobble it all up cause you haven't had it in forever then you end up miserable. Maybe you should get a cable to hook your Computer to your TV so you can watch your shows!

30lbs is no small feat! I'm sorry you need a new hip but we would love to help motivate you to lose the last 25lbs! And I can only imagine how good it felt to drop pants sizes! Thats awesome!

It was about a year ago I came to the realization that, if I did not eat until I felt sick I felt like I did not eat enough. Once I realized that, it made it a lot easier to lose weight, I think that's why I have kept what I did lose off this last year. Rather than gain it all back as usual.

Haa yeah I have a media center computer set up for that, but I need to figure out what to do with a keyboard and mouse so I can read the forums while I exercise too haha!

I'm in again this year. Was fun last time.

In the winter I work on bulking up a bit, but will maintain around a 8% bodyfat composition.

I weigh once a week on Monday when I first wake up and check BF with an Omron BF monitor, not perfect but gives me an idea. As long as I can see a six pack I know I'm 8% or less.

Today I weighed 157 and 8.5% BF.

Today was my first workout for 2012 and was Chest and Biceps. I just came off a 5x5 workout (5 sets of 5 reps HEAVY) and am moving back to a more normal 3 sets of 8-10 reps workout. I change my workout routine every 90 days doing the same body parts, but different exercises to help avoid plateaus.

Incline Dumb Bell Press - 70/70/70 10/9/8
Flat Dumb Bell Press - 70/70/70 8/7/8
Dumb Bell Fly - 35/35/35 10/11/10 (go heavier next week)
Standing Dumb Bell Curl - 40/40/40 8/8/8
Preacher Dumb Bell Hammer Curl - 25/25/25 12/12/12 (go heavier next week)
Cable Curl - 100/100/100 10/9/8

No cardio in the winter.....I save that for the spring so I can focus calories on building size/shape.

Well I joined this thread last year but there wasnt any weight loss. I run 4+ miles 2-3 times a week and lift the other 2-3 days. What is funny is with all of this I am gaining weight not losing. I am to the point of why I should work out if I am still gaining weight. I can do this not waking up early (0430) and abusing myself. Due to my work I really cant plan meals cause of the traveling I do.

A couple of things, first you have to distinguish between fat loss and weight loss. If you are working out and running as you say and are not loosing "weight" either you are gainning muscle or your diet is way off for your body type.

If your diet is that far off imagine where you would be if you didn't exercise.

The two biggest reasons people don't eat right are I don't have time and my job/schedule does not allow it. If you are serious about fat loss or weight loss both are lame excuses that can easily be remedied.

I work so much I just don't have time to drive to a gym that has one, the gym I go to doesn't have this, but I'm trying to get to the point where I have my own mini gym at home!

Having a gym at home is the way to go. When I put together my gym I was buying used equipment ( most was almost never used) off of craigs list etc. Keeping what I needed and selling the rest. I actually have a pretty decent set up and doing it made me money, figure that one out.

That is a very realistic goal. Do you have an idea on how you will do it?
