Isn't the Glock 23 the same exact size as a 19? I know my Glock 19 fits in the center console while in a nylon holster. Just barely, but it does fit and closes.

Yes, the 9mm Glock 19 and the .40 Glock 23 have the exact same external dimensions, as does the .357 Glock 32. A holster designed for one will work equally well with any of the others. Your solution should work just as well for the OP.

That is the silliest spot I have ever seen,
Invest in some training if your are going to own a gun much less keep that in your car. The lightest fender bender will dislodge that and have it under your feet . A small bump in the road will put the gun at a different angle and even more difficult to get your hand on. Your going to have too many movements if you ever had to use it. If your going to carry a gun then it should be loaded. Most likely you would shoot yourself in your left elbow if you tried to chamber a round in your car after drawing that gun from seat adjuster. I think if you get some snap caps and practice drawing from that position you will realize its a real bad idea Good choice in car Good choice in gun Just a bad choice in the way your using them together |

I conceal carry with a special holster that fits between the seat. It's securely lodged in and doesn't move with bumps etc etc. Gun clears holster easily and doesn't require too much pulling or messing with. Perfect for quick draw.
OP: that's the worse spot I have ever seen for a pistol. Living in a 3rd world country with my car requires this. Tinted windows make it nearly impossible to see from outside. Here's a pic, note it usually sits quite farther down in the holster:

As a LEO I would have to say that you should certainly double check your state's laws specifically those regarding concealed carry, not to mention that is by no means concealed. Always keep in mind the first thing in the officer's mind when he pulls you over is his and his partner's safety.
Can you see it from standing outside the window? Maybe, maybe not... do yourself a favor, get a CCW permit and a proper concealment holster. For those of you who say you can't or don't want to carry a full size weapon concealed, I carry my duty weapon, a sig 229 every day and you cant see it even in shorts and a t shirt. You only need the proper rig for your weapon/ body type. I am all about the right to bear arms, and had my ccw before I was a LEO. For the poster who doesn't believe in carrying a gun I have to tell you now, in a situation where you or your family is in danger whether that be from a home invasion, carjacking, whatever it may be... You are your own first line of defense and it will likely be several minutes before help gets there. Me and my 13 rounds of .357 are certainly ready for any situation, and most people are more then capable of being trained to the same levels of readiness and marksmanship that I was, I have co workers who were bankers, lawyers, bakers, and accountants, and I would put anyone of us against a carjacker or burglar any day of the week. |
