V6 to SS then you want to mod the SS then you will want a zl1
Then a zr1 it never ends.

Haha OP you wont regret it if u trade up. Besides you only live once is the the motto that i go by...everyday...everyday.

The extra pony's are nice! But just so u know gas will last no more than five days depending on ur driving.

The Camaro enjoys the best value retention among modern cars in it's class. I wish I could remember where I read that???? (don't ever get old). That should be some consolation to you. You only live once...live it the way you want to or feel cheated when you get old!

I drove a 2011 Challenger the other day and was very impressed. Yep, it's heavy and if I had never driven a Camaro SS or a Mustang 5.0, the weight wouldn't bother me at all. It's a very well put together car with a very nice interior.

I still have a V6 Magnum. I could easily get a V6 Camaro but I know myself. Even though it has a little more power than my Magnum, eventually I will want the SS. So I am holding out till financially things are better for me and the family to get one.

When I was in the market for the Camaro, I didn't even bother looking into anything but the SS. I got to the dealer and told them I want to test drive a SS. After test driving we started the paperwork. For me, if I was going to get a muscle car, I'm going to get it with the most muscle possible off the showroom floor.

A friend of mine is in the home audio/video business. He told me "if you go with the 46" TV and a 50" would have fit, at some point in time you'll think 'I wonder what the 50" would have been like?'"

I bought the 50" and have NEVER wondered what the 46" would have been like...

Always get the big engine.

You gotta ask yourself, is it THAT important to you to have the V8. I was recently looking at winter vehicles, and while I was at the stealership, I had my 1LT valued. They offered me 22K for it. I've had it for maybe a year and a half, and put quite a few mods into it. Sure, some day I may trade up to an SS or maybe a 'vette, but at this point, it would just be throwing money away. Honestly, I didn't think the Challys were THAT much faster than our V6. You're probably just feeling that extra TQ they have on tap. If you're even thinking about trading, I'd go for an SRT or an SS...don't bother with an R/T (not enough of an upgrade IMO)

I agree with the posters who say "Get what you want". If you're serious about getting a V8, get one. It's not that big of a jump, price-wise, and you could always go used if you're just not comfortable with the dollars.

That's my feeling.

Price wise, there isn't that much of a jump between the V6 and the V8. The difference in insurance is somewhat negligible and if the price of gas is a deciding factor in your buying decision, you probably shouldn't even be considering a muscle car PERIOD.

I got my 5.0 because I knew I'd regret getting the V6 at some point, and I have absolutely no regrets for getting what I got.

The LLT has been around for a long time; they have been putting it in the caddy for years. So I have to disagree with you. And that has nothing to do with whether it is "safer to mod" or not... just my opinion
I gotta disagree here. The LSX family is a simple, easily modified line of engines that people have been modifying the bejesus out of for well over a decade now. The aftermarket for the LSX engines is also exponentially bigger than it is for the V6. How many Buick Enclave owners or Cadillac CTS owners are going to modify their LLT?

I guess I have a different concept of "you only live once" than alot of people here! To me, that does NOT mean to always buy the most expensive, latest, greatest, fastest...it means to enjoy life!

I've not regretted buying my v6. I actually drive it more than I drive anything else I own. Yes, I can drive my c6 Vette and go faster, quicker. But I really don't have any raging desire to do that between red lights here in town.

Oh, and I wouldn't rather have a Challenger (any of their models) than my v6 Camaro.
