Some call centers have systems that will alert the roving manager to listen in, others do not but instruct the rep to call their manager over when certain phrases are said.

It's important to be mad but not at the rep themselves. They are just the one your call was directed to.

The moment I said "Tom, I have extremely upset and this situation is unacceptable" I heard a click and then heard someone talking to him lowly in the background.

I just came out and said, hey I am going to Philly for the weekend. I don't want to fight traffic can I do half day on Friday or take the day off. He said I will approve whatever time you need.
