I'm still in Shock they use this in 4x4 trucks 4-door trucks
I noticed a co-worker has a 4-door F-150 AND it is 4WD and it has the 3.5L eco-boost V6.
3.5L V6 EcoBoost™, 213 CID, 365 hp @ 5000, 420 lb-ft @ 2500 , 10:01 , High Pressure Direct Injection , 4x4 15 City/21 HWY I am curious how many miles this engine can go before anything has to be rebuilt, such as the turbo-charger. If it is ULTRA-reliable then I guess it is pretty amazing. http://media.ford.com/article_displa...ticle_id=25149 |

Believe me, I am curious as well. The torture tests helped convince me, but those weren't over a long period of time. Just a lot of abuse in a few weeks. Only time will tell. I will be towing my camaro on a trailer across country in Feb, should be a good start to its' lifes test. :] |

Ya, Chrome looks good on some vehicles, but too much looks like crap. I never liked the chrome trim on the tails of that truck anyhow.

Ford builds the best trucks in the world, IMO. I hope the Ecoboots twin turbo stands up over time, I think it will. I still have my 1998 Ford F-150 I have owned for over 13 years, best vehicle I have ever owned. I will never buy any other truck but Ford.

Here is my 2011: I got the 5.0 though. Couldn't justify the $1250 more for the eco. I did get the gray factory 20s though, and luxury pack and sony radio. |

Honestly, I think GM and Ford both have the best trucks, the older models going to Chevy, though Ford's trucks always just kind of looked like SUVs with beds, the one I like is the 2005 body style, and this new one is growing on me with the4 FX4 appearance package.

but all trucks on the market today are increasing towing capabilities by leaps and bounds compared to just a few years ago.

After a week of driving in cold weather, im avg 15 mpg city, the f-150 forum guys and even the dealer said it may take a few thousand miles for the ecoboost to get better mpg. I don't understand the mechanics as to why it would take miles to get better mpg, but i'm also not an engineer.
I did purchase the FX4 lux pkg. The black 20's were looking good and I wanted to buy them, but I didnt want to pay the extra for them. Going to start looking on craigs list and e-bay to see if anyone is selling theirs. The ecoboost was only 650 more for me, maybe prices came down from 11's to 12's. Only diff I noticed from 11's to 12's was the 36 gal tank w/ ecoboost. |

right, but my current trailer puller, a ram 2500, gets prob about 12 mpg on its own, and maybe about 8-9 when pulling the trailer, and I think its capacity is about 8000 lbs. so this would be a big improvement for me. funny I was just at three different ford dealers a couple months ago looking at F250s, you'd think one of them would have mentioned this F15o ecoboost could pull nearly as much. How is it that this has 70 more torque than the same engine in the SHO, Flex, and the Lincolns, but same hp? Imagine if they put that engine in a mustang with 365hp/420 tq. |

It's prob because all the ford dealers are trying to desperately get rid of the super duty's (f250's, f350's) Saw a fairly loaded F350 MSRP 55k being sold for 39k(brand new at the dealer) only part of it was you had to finance through them.
