I agree, the 300 and Charger sell well. I don't think GM doesn't want to compete in that market because they believe it to be limited though.

Charger and 300 sales are actually down YTD.

There is a market for RWD full size sedans, but it is very limited. Impala will do much better as a full size FWD/AWD sedan. It will essentially be a poor man's Cadillac XTS.

That being said...I wouldn't rule out a Chevrolet RWD performance sedan just yet...
