Question Jeep:What Would You Do?

Lets say that I buy a jeep truck that looks like so...... (in the future)

Would you go so far to put a 3/4 ton frame under it (extensive shortening narrowing) and same with axles... Dana 60 up front and 70 in the back.
Also if I did this.... This engine would make it into it if at all physically possible.

Or last resort, cummins 6bt or 4bt.
Would it be worth it?

If it's worth it to you, then it's worth it!

You are the only one that has to be happy with it.

It would be unique and different, thats for sure. (And absolutely bad ass, I might add)

I'd almost leave the body as it is and maybe upgrade the driveline/brakes and drive it like it is

That would be a sweet truck. I know from the experience of a friend of mine that put a Vortec 4.3 in a Jeepster that the engine compartment can be a tad tight. But he made it work and has a nice Jeepster Convertible.

And ANYTHING you are interested in is worth doing. If you like it, do it! I doubt you will get your money out of it as an investment with the intent of reselling it.

What would its intention be for?

4 wheeling..... (probably not after you do a restoration with nice paint)
Tow rig ......(chassis too small and weak)
Weekend cruiser........(I guess it could be fun but its gonna be a rough cramped ride and overkill with 1 ton running gear)

Cool project but just make sure you have it all planned out with prices before you jump heads first into something like that.

Have you seen the Mr. Hyde build thread?

I think i would do body work, and then do a cheap paint job on it, so I could drive and not worry. The chassis would be strong........... trust me. It's setback would be weight, but I have a feeling when all said and done, it would get up there. The chassis would be a LOT larger than stock. I would either make my own, or shorten a current 2500 trucks. It should tow just fine. Off roading, maybe a slight bit.

The biggest problem would be fitting the Duramax.
