They all do. Ear tag lists the calf's number, her dam's number, her sire's name, and her birthday, plus "XX" if she was bred from sexed semen.

My wittle pretty girl, Josephina.

Her number is 26, her dam's number (Carly) is 4475, her sire is Fanfare, and she was born on Cinco de Mayo. Carly was bred the new old fashioned way with regular semen.
