I'm guilty of this. My old 1978 Camaro was only a Type LT but I gave it Z28 badges, Z28 fender grilles, Z28 hood scoop, Z28 wheels, Z28 front spoiler, and a Z28 steering wheel. Some Camaro or GM purists would laugh/smirk when I told them this. 99% of people never knew the difference though.

Good one! ... Or, can we put "44th" badges on our 2011's and call it our 44th Anniversary Edition??

I saw a 4-door civic with an SS Badge a few days ago

I was at 7-11 and saw a green 1998 civic 4-door and it had on the rear panel a RED "SS" Badge normally where there would be DX, or LX or EX.

I swear I wanted to take a picture but they parked right out front and I thought the owner might see me and get angry.

This HONDA was not even modified. It was just a PLAIN honda 4 door civic
"SS".

IN MY MIND, I just told myself I am glad I am not involved in any fast-and-the-furious crapola.

No idea. Seen it in person.. it's worse.

Never get s**t for my Hurst badge though, since all I have to do is open my door, point to the BBS code and prove that my car (like 98% of all T/A 6spds after 99ish) is a Hurst 6spd.

All else fails I just pull up the shift linkage on my iphone and pull my shift boot for those ultra purists.

Sorry, but I really do not have a problem with the above. Most of what is posted here...yes FAIL, but upgrading cosmetically is one thing, posing is another. Lima Charlie went to lengths to get it as close as he could. I have done similar things because I liked the appearance. Si wheels and spoilers on a Civic....SS trim along with a badass 350 small block on a 64 Chevelle 300..so what

The strangest thing is that the people that put on the fake badges have no idea how much turmoil that causes in your life. It's neither dangerous to society nor personally affecting anyone else that I can see, so I don't understand how we need a badge police.

So here you are anguishing over a mis-placed badge, while they're enjoying their car. In a couple of months, only you will be the one still worrying about it.

This is a common affliction in the automotive enthusiast world, which bleeds over from everyday life of people just simply not minding his/her own business. I have no control over what badges people put on their car. And one day, you also will learn, although you don't have to accept it, you don't have any control over it either. Roll with it, get over it, move on, and work on curing cancer or at least something more meaningful.

Huh? Don't think anyone here is losing sleep over it... or spending countless hours patrolling the streets looking to ticket mis-badged cars... I think we were just expressing our dislike for the practice and offering up some of the ridiculous cars we've come across in our travels...
