Once college started, I had to quit working to have time to study.

Just hope youngsters (and oldsters I guess too :-) ) here have the right priorities... no need to mention all those... but should include saving for retirement and building a rainy day fund... before buying a new car and a bunch of mods.
I totally understand this! I always try to keep at least 5k in the checking account incase of a rainy day senario and I started maxing out my 401k payments the second week I was hired and I'm only 22!

I'm currently 21, bought a 2011 LS all by myself when I was 20. I pay for everything- the car, my own insurance policy, and yes the gas!

Flame suit on!
Makes sense. Law schools not cheap, so buy two SS's

I'm not sure if I will be buying the new ss or the 5.0 though. Dealers are crazy what they want for 2010 camaros. 2011 5.0 with 100miles are 22grand I seen cheapest vs a 2011 ss with 10k priced at 35grand. BS...
Slap mods on the 5th, and you'll be shown just how obsolete that car is. The previous gens don't compare in any way shape or form, and the price of those at the time they were in production, is proportionate to what the 5's cost in today's times.

Paid mine in full when I bought it with no help from my parents.
I'm 59 but I feel like i'm 18. Does that count?

bought the car when I was 20. I took care of the down payment, monthly car payments, insurance (its a bitch at this age!) and rent of course

Bought at 19 years old. 20 now and have been financially stable. Just needed parents to sign for it. I had no credit. Got my dream job at 18.

I wouldn't have done it if I couldn't afford both the cars and Law School. What do you care what I do with my money?

I am 19 now, but when I was 16 my parents bought me a new 2008 Honda Civic. In order to keep the car, I needed to maintain a 3.5+ gpa. I did After my first semester of college, I made a deal with my parents; if i keep my grades up, they will make the car payments while i am at school, but I have to repay them every penny that they spend while I am at school.

I dont know if that counts, but I am paying, eventually, for every dollar of that car the Civic didnt trade in for.
