Even I have to say that is a better deal than the current Silverado 1500 for the 2WD versions. They're actually pretty close in price for the 4x4 versions.

If you were looking at HD diesels I would say go with the chevy, but on a 1500 I would pick the ram.

Ram hands down if you're going non HD. Just so happened that the 2500HD, with a 7ft plow blade turned better than anything I've ever driven.

I was impressed with the GMT-900, considering we went from an '04 2500HD with 144K miles on it. But seeing the non HD trims.. I'd go Ram. With us it was a business purchase, and parts familiarity/commonality were important. If it were personal.. even the LTZ just didn't have it for my tastes.

Idk about that. If I were in the market for a brand new half ton, then I'd go straight to Ford.

we've got 2 Ram 5500HDs..... they can't be beat.... wish we'd get rid of everything else and switch 100% to dodge.

My 2009 Ram:

Now, this was my 2nd ram. Had a 2004 sport too. (With a 2006 fx4 150 in the middle) The ram is cheaper than the competition. but you get what you pay for. The build quality just isn't there. My 09 rattled and creaked, the seats were uncomfortable, and even the infinity stereo wasn't good. But it had power, lots of power.

I DD f150s now. With the new engines out, my 2011 fx4 really picks up the power.

The dodge isn't a bad truck, and I don't blame anybody for buying one. It's cheaper, it's just there is a reason for it.

Half ton should always be a Ford. If you're in the HD market I'd say a tie between GM and Ford. Unless you'd actually use the thing, in which case Ford again. Until GM gets rid of that IFS it just ain't a HD truck.

Our dodge is approaching 100k fine.
However...... The 4l60 e mated to the 5 cyl hummer went out at about 60k.

Well, today while cruising the local auto mall, on a whim, I decided to check out the Dodges. And I have to say. The new RAM sport 1500 is a nice truck. It really makes the Silverado seem dated. And it seems like you get a bit more for the money.

But wow, I feel like I'm cheating on a girlfriend even being on the lot. I don't know how I'd feel driving an brand new dodge, while calling my self a Chevy guy....

I know what you are feeling, but I have a Dodge ram 1500 Express, and I got a lot for a little..... not by brand, I call myself a car guy.................
