Nope. I'm in a holding pattern until after the holidays. I don't like to spend much on myself during Xmas until I have everyone else covered. I have given it some thought though.

Isn't it yearly bonus time for you soon? I guess your decision is somewhat contingent on that...

Sounds to me like you've accomplished a lot. Not too mention you have a nice girlfriend. Some of the older generation base being married and having children as huge accomplishments. Don't let it get to you. In time.

Bonus was back in September. Used the bulk of that to pay off some credit cards and the dental work I had done this year. I also used some of it on my wheels/tires.

I don't understand why some parents are that way. Why does having kids make you accomplished?? The only thing I get out of it is that you learn that life doesn't revolve around you, you learn what it means to be a parent and care for someone. The joys of bringing life into this world. I say that would be an additional accomplishment to what you have already done. There is a lot more that goes with children, but I don't see why parents feel you HAVE to have them.

You might have better luck with this in the ladies lounge. Most guy friendship problems are resolved by punches, beers, or both. Depending on the severity of the offense, of course.
