I broke my tradition and decorated my tree early last night.

I bought it and the ribbons, burgundy and gold balls, bows and tinsel for less than $40 when I was in college-- I call it my Martha Stewart tree. I get one ornament a year (minus the crystal icicles I bought for it in Frankenmuth, MI at the world's largest Christmas store). What do y'all think?

Very pretty! We will probably get our tree this weekend. I'm very Martha Stewart-y with my tree too. I will post pics.

I like it!! Looks very pretty. I can't have a tree that ornate because my son doesn't know how to leave it alone. Our tree is very bare, and the hubby is wanting to add more. He is crazy!! Love yours though!! Can I print out a life size pic and just tape it to my wall.

Nice Sara - I know that place in Frankenmuth!! I'll post pics of mine when I'm done. Very Martha Stewart in white and gold with some silver thrown in. Love doing it!! You'll think I knew what I was doing when you see it - cracks me up every year. I don't have a creative bone in my body, but my Christmas decorations always come out great.

I love our ladies thread, does anyone else hope the C5 Gods will create a sub-forum for us so we can have a variety of threads? Having just one thread and all these lady conversations, they can get hard to follow so...
Welcome home, Congratulations on the babies, I love the boots but they never make such cool boots big enough for my size 10 1/2 - 11 feet except at transvestite stores. My tree's up but I haven't snapped a pic yet, your tree looks awesome Sarah! I'd love to come to Italy too, I actually do have a friend there to visit but I'll never afford such extravagance! Even a nice spa day would do especially with my 56th birthday coming up day after tomorrow.
Been thinking about adding AAC dual color halo headlights & fog lights http://www.automotivelightstore.com/...hthalokit.aspx - anyone else got this? How do you like it if you have?

Oh, I will. I wanna get down to 125 or 130lbs and maybe a waist of 30 or something like that. I WILL have the willpower to do it. Jiggly baby fat is horrible.

Ok, so I guess the guys don't want us talking about that with you in the other lounge. I know it's hard, but stay strong. It's never easy losing someone so close to you, especially when they are acting like that. She is obviously jealous, and is hoping you will apologize for your behavior. However, sounds like you haven't don anything wrong other than be a good friend. No need to apologize for that. Friends should be happy and excited when their friends accomplish things in life, not bag on them for doing it. Jo is right, she is poison and will only bring you down. I say do whatever you must (that is safe and legal) to vent this all out, and then move on. Girls can be nasty, and that's why a lot of my friends are guys. I have girl friends, but I don't keep them very close. They will stab you in the back in a heart beat. Very few out there that won't, but a vast majority will.

C&P from the lounge, just to get the consensus of you ladies.

It looks like I just found out why my 'best friend' has been alienating me and been so rude and stuff, excluding me from parties, not talking to me after everything I've done for her/with her.

Awesome.

She said she wanted to get together and talk about why she was mad. She was busy last night; I'm busy tonight. I suggested tomorrow before I go play trivia with the University of Arkansas Fort Smith professors (I'm SO EXCITED about that because one is going to write me a recommendation so I can start using my Master's and TEACHING NEXT FALL! )

She said "comments like that have been the problem. Maybe we'll get together when you're not playing trivia with the UAFS professors." She said it in a really snarky way.

OUCH. I thought she'd be happy for me! What is wrong with what I said?! She just added, "It feels like you rub stuff in my face. And for wanting to talk so bad you cancel? It feels like you're trying to get me back for something. I wish you luck in getting the teaching job. It has nothing to do with not wanting you to be happy, I thought you were sticking with your current job, Stories change a lot and I never get the whole story. It's just been a lot of little shit that I have let go and let go cause it wasn't worth a fight with a friend but I feel less and less like a friend every time we have hung out lately. Holiday Market was the topper." (The Junior League private event I took her to where I blew $200 on new clothes for her and paid for her ticket and drinks) She went on to add "I don't know who you are and where you're going anymore."

....this is absolutely crazy, she has been biting my head off for months. Ever since I got this job and got my car and joined the junior league.

I hate to say it because it sounds so narcissistic but... is she like... jealous or something???? It's the ONLY thing that makes sense...! We've been texting and she is unloading on me, saying I'm always trying to one up her, saying every time we talk it's been about the guys I'm dating (.... isn't that what you talk to friends about?) or about my car... she is forgetting all the times she hasn't wanted to talk when I've asked her if she is ok and if things are OK with her boyfriend and her kids. She said "I'm never as good as you" just now. Then starts ranting about my car, my clothes, my other friends.... What. The. F.

A friend would be proud of you and happy for you. Sorry she's not being your friend. :(
