I have a job in which, almost everyone I work with is heavily tatted up. I think I'm the only one without one come to think of it.

This is how my job is also. I am the only without a tattoo. My friends are all tatted up.

IMHO, being different from the norm should not be the reason you get a tattoo. That's what causes these fads like tramp stamps and barbed wire. Tattoos should convey some deeply personal meaning while looking cool. My $0.02.
