from what my dealer told me, the way it works is they were told how many 2012s they were allotted for the 2012 model year.

Now, they have to wait for each consensus period to open and see if they have any available to order. If they do, they can order that number of ZL1s, if they don't have any, they can't order them. Well, they can place the order but the Oshawa plant won't pick the order up and build the car until its their turn.
