--on a side note-- You should check local laws where you live or with an attorney. Not sure that sitting in that seat release is "concealed". Laws vary from State to State. Some States, even if they have concealed permits require that the firearm be on your person as a concealed weapon and sitting there could constitute "brandishing" if you happen to get the right sort of LEO pulling you over.

Here are the 2 that are currently carried in my car. The Ruger on the pasenger side for my wife, Beretta on drivers side.

On occasion I'll replace the Beretta with my XDM or the FN Five-seveN:

Fortunately in Texas we have a preemption law that stops cities and municipalities from making their own laws on carry. The same carry laws apply throughout the state of Texas.

I want mine on me but if not this is second best, no need to unlatch the seat belt to reach across the car when seconds count

You are on a camaro forum complaining about roads? Wow. Guess I'm just a gun totin, Bambi killin camaro lover!

On topic, it would be great to have some form of a gun safety box that could be mounted or possibly a holster that could be attached under the seat or dash:

Kinda like:

Or

Btw, I think I proved my point about the anti hunters being less educated on the matter. Oh and I actually bow hunt. I tend to prefer that over shootin up the forest.

Check your math.

Sorry about changing the subject, but he brought it up.

Im not anti-gun either do whatever you want with your money, just don't like hunting.

nice...id be worried about accidentally blowing my nuts off if something were to happen and I had to reach for it fast...

I usually keep mine in my lap(safety on) while im driving....I can conceal it when the cops pull me over, In seconds someone could kill you over your car....I just cant take that chance..

I built this in my caprice to hide whatever i dont want to leave out in view, when im parked.

All I learned from this thread is that the LS trim level Camaros don't have electric seat controls

I love how anti-gun people and/or people who are only educated in their own state's gun laws swarm to any and all gun-related threads. Don't they know that gun laws change from state to state and trying to use a blanket "most states" phrase only shows their ignorance? That's just the nature of internet forums, I suppose.

To the OP, I don't think I'd trust having my firearm in that location. I mean, have you tested to see just how secure it is? I could see you hitting the brakes hard to avoid something and the gun would dislodge itself from this location.

I kind of like the photo the guy posted of his XDM sitting next to the seat belt release, but that still seems like the gun isn't fully secured. Can the gun, in that location, slide further between the seat and center console? That would suck having your gun fall down between the seat and console to where you can't get to it in that one off-chance situation when you actually need it. :(

That would be illegal in the state of Florida. It has to have a strap over it. Like a holster with a button strap if you will. Like this one.
