Especially since both campus police and State College PD are saying he didn't contact either of them. It's a convenient bogus email that was meant to get out. WEAK "I know I don't know you extremely well but here's my story" PLEASE

If he believes his job stops on the football field and not in the coaches shower then I have a problem with that. Again, I see a man who preached Honor, Integrity, and Character. And claimed to personify all of that. A guy who, when told he was going to be let go, told the school "No, I don't think I'm gonna let you fire me today. I'll go when I'm good and ready to go". Like Wyatt Earp in Tombstone. There are those who think it's possible this was somehow brought out now for the express purpose of firing Joe. I don't believe that. I have way too much faith in people than that. Masses anyway. There are enough good people out there to stop it.

Oh, and that DA disappeared in 2005. Investigating subsequent behavior of Sandusky.

Maybe. I doubt police were called. University police are a joke. They work for the University. Mabye it's just me but I wouldnt' stop until that jackass was in jail or McQueary was. His testimony was vivid, and accurate. If he lied or misinterpereted himself to the grand jury then he'll be going to jail. If he changes his story, Sandusky will walk. Time will tell. But the lawyers are already wondering wtf McQueary is talking about.

If you read the indictment, the grand jury got it just fine. And if McQueary lied or left out obvious items then he'll answer for that.

What a crazy mess.
PQ, not all "university police" are worthless or work for the university directly. For example, the University Police at the University of Pennsylvania are an actual precinct of the City of Philadelphia with an limited jurisdiction of university property/area.

They have the full resources of the Philadelphia Police Department and when illegal activity is occurring beyond the normal street cops, Philadelphia police/detectives are involved.

Now since the town of State College isn't all that big, it wouldn't be a huge surprise to me if the Penn State University Police weren't a subset of the towns police department. Hence not just rent-a-cops.

Actually, from this link:

http://www.police.psu.edu/aboutus/

"The department provides 24-hour patrol services to the campus and University-owned properties year round. The University Police is governed by a state statute that gives our officers the same authority as municipal police officers. "

and bullets 5 and 6 of this link:

http://www.police.psu.edu/statestatutes/

The University Police are ARMED and trained officers. The auxiliary officers are akin to "rent-a-cops"

Just clarifying.

Now Drexel University, where I attended school, those guys were the same as mall cops and would call the real police for backup.

Kinda seems that way, but if I were Mike McQueary and I actually DID stop the rape, I'd leak something like that too. His dad said he wanted to talk REALLY baddly. I think I'd have followed Sandusky and told that kids mother what happened. Or tried. But I wasn't there so I don't know exactly what was possible.

Fair enough, but somebody is lying here. The police or the University. And the two University officials were arrested becasue they DIDN'T call the police.

So I doubt the police were ever called. (at least not that incidence) I'll bet McQueary was refering to Schultz when he sayd 'Head of Police'. In which case it's about Paterno, Curly and Schultz.

I think at best McQueary might have interrupted the rape, but then did nothing that a responsible human being would do.
