Happens all the time.

In June I drove the Camaro to Kansas and it averaged 26.2 mpg.
Last week I drove my rental Malibu to Kansas, it averaged 26.8 mpg.

4 cylinder couldn't pull itself on the highway it seemed like. Didin't want to shift into overdrive.

Well the difference between my Camaro and Fiesta is 16.4 and 42.4 Its like night and day. The Fiesta gets beat up on work drives while the Camaro sleeps in its pent house garage. Wouldn't have it any other way.
