I was wondering how a base vette compared to a loaded 2ss because with my discount they are priced very close. I even heard that insurance on a vette isnt very bad compared to a camaro any truth to that?

It would vary from company to company...I've heard the Corvette is internally classified as a "luxury car" by some companies which lets its rates be lower than they ought to be...

As far as performance, the Corvette will undoubtedly be faster, but comfort, ingress and egress will be compromised. Base Vette vs 2SS will be night and day in terms of equipment and gadgets...You'd need a 3LT Corvette to match the features of the 2SS Camaro.

New seats and a "new" steering wheel.

The one I drove a few months ago with the new seats was simply a Corvette.................and the seats were worse for my big wide a** and the steering wheel added some nice trim to the existing wheel. I wouldn't look at toooooo much difference in reviews between the base 11 and the base 12. Now if you get a Z06 you are talking the availability of the ceramic brakes as well as the cup tires.

But for me the seats were not a huge deal and I didn't think the chrome accents on the steering wheel were that awesome either. Nice improvements but evolutionary improvements.

Do you really need a review to influence a decision to buy a vette, other than maybe the size of your pocketbook?

But in all seriousness, test drive one. All the vehicles that I've bought or even thought about buying I've test driven.

He told me that was the best damn answer he ever heard.

My insurance went up $71 for 6 months from The Camaro SS to the Grand Sport Vette. As far as the 2SS pkg vs the base Vette (1LT) You would not be getting the heads up display, bluetooth, heated seats. You would have to go to the 2LT pkg for the Bose stereo, bluetooth and heads up. if you wanted heated seats dual power sport seats etc you would have to to the 3LT pkg which most dealer instock Vettes have.
