The DA makes the final call after weighing the evidence. They don't like to prosecute cases that they don't think they can win. He may have thought an assault took place but. Couldn't prove it. Or there were some outside influences.

That's what I thought, too. So.. why are people blaming the mother? If it's up to the DA, she has nothing to do with the final decision.

The mother never sought to press charges, she just simply wanted him to agree to never shower with another kid again.

Also, it's now being said that McQueary DID stop the rape that night. McQueary has now siad that he did not just leave. Still didn't get the kid out of there, but did stop the assault.

In which case it could be very well for him. And make sense that he is still with the team. If so I hope he nails Sandusky to the wall with his testimony.

This is a very sad story......The SYSTEM has failed these kids.

Supposedly two children and parents reported Sandusky to the DA and it was investigated....BUT no charges....victims were supposedly paid. Sandusky was told he would never be the head coach at Penn State and " Decides " to retire.......During this " retirement" process he works out a deal where as his kids, grandchildren could go to PSU free AND he would still have access to PSU and all of its facilities?????????????????

THEN custodial workers caught him in the shower with kids but it only went to their supervisor....then Coach McQ catches him in the shower again................

There are also reports that he checked students out of school during the school day........Took kids to Bowl Games, to the team hotel etc.......

Basically he befriended the at risk kids with high dollar gifts and took advantage of them.

For those who do not know 10-15 yr old boys want a father figure, especially if the never had one....they want the love of a man....like most normal kids. What this idiot did was taken advantage of kids in the worst kind of way.

His interview last night only helped the prosecution....he admitted to being in the shower and admitted touching and horse playing....he now can not deny these statements....Of course he says ir wasn't sexual......but how many people horse play naked in the showed with it NOT being sexual......

This is SICK and this man will get what he deserves.....I fully believe that there are many more kids that will come forward...reportedly 10 more have came forward and this is only the beginning. This guy just didn't start doing this...he has been doing this for awhile.

I just feel so sorry for the kids, who trusted a person of influence and authority, and very abused........Just makes me sick.

I find it appalling that McQueary hasn't been fired yet. "Administrative leave"? Give me a break. He saw something happening and didn't stop it immediately - he needs to be indicted as an accomplice, IMO... Everyone who didn't call the police when they had knowledge of wrongdoing should be considered accomplices. They were worried about his power, and possibly losing their jobs? I think they all need to worry about their souls now.

I saw something like that, too - can't remember where. But this morning, the newspaper article (there's a new one every day!) said he "left immediately, distraught".

I hope so - I hope the truth comes out, and anyone involved is held responsible, and the boys can all get the help they need now. Well, they're young men now, but they probably still need help dealing with how that monster impacted their lives.

All McQueary did was walk in on the situation and it stopped. The coward did nothing but report it to Joe. Joe escalated the report to the athletic director as he should have done. Joe did not report it to the police since he did not witness the sick event. I guess Joe was to go to the police and say "Someone told me, that they saw something unappropriate occurring." All second information, hear say (Judge Judy anyone?). Sandusky was retired from the football program when this happened. Joe does not grant access to the facility. IMO, the failure was on McQueary. He witnessed the event, did not know what to do, so he called his dad. I believe McQueary was at least 28 yrs old at that time, old enough to know better and do the right thing(s). He also had credibility and respect, being a PSU QB. Campus security also investigated. But all the highlights are on Joe. It's obvious if you look at it know, something more should have been done. Hind sight is 20 20. Focus on the Sandusky and McQueary, it should have ended there. All the Joe haters really came out for this one. As an alum, it angers me in the way PSU handled this situation, both before and after the allegations.
