And the Lambdas compete with the Explorer. By the way, it has a foldable 3rd row. ![]() You'd have just as much (if not more) cargo room in the back as the last-gen TrailBlazer with the 3rd row folded flat.

Why the third row? If the bring it over like that they'll have 4 Chevy's with 3 rows in the US (5 in Canada): Suburban, Tahoe, Traverse, Trailbazer (and Orlando). Then you have the GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, and Acadia. And of course we can't forget about the Cadillac Escalade and Buick Enclave. That would make for 9 (or 10) vehicles that seat at least 7 people in the GM lineup. Ditch the 3rd row on the Blazer, save some cost, save some weight, and gain some space. If people need more seating and more cargo volume, there's always the Tahoe or Suburban.

I think GM is still missing the mark. Its a slick design but the body doesn't look much different than the Traverse.
GM realized that they threw away their Trailblazer business when they hastily cut midsized trucks during their bleeding period in '08. The irony was that the old trailblazers were still selling when they were cancelled. GM is still way behind in the crossover-suv market, and the Jeep Grand Cherokee is still dominating the market uncontested.

Whether you want to call the Grand Cherokee a full size SUV or a full size crossover, GM sells about 2 such vehicles for every one of those Jeeps. You can include the Dodge Durango too, but even combined their sales would be less than those hot new offerings from Chrysler. Which brings me to another point: the full size SUVs from GM are about 5 years old now, due for a replacement in the not so distant future. The crossovers are a couple years newer than that, but they're not exactly fresh anymore either. And yet despite that, GMs full size SUVs and full size crossovers are still at the top of the sales charts.

If a MAN is looking for a daily driver SUV he's going to look at Durango first and Explorer second. Traverse is too girly and mini-van like. You do see more men driving Acadias but as I mentioned before the price range isnt right to compete with Durango and Explorer directly. |

it certainly looks better than the old bodystyle, but im not so sure if there is placement for this vehicle... i could see if they made it a more rugged all terrain vehicle like a Jeep, Land Rover, or Toyota, but not "just another suv".. GM already makes too many of the same vehicle, now they gonna make a Trailblazer, copy it two more times, and call it a day?

They need to change that stupid grill design and not use the same exact design for 10 different vehicles, it's stupid as heck, even if it looked good, don't use the same front end on a car, truck and suv. Bleh.

The Durango may be classified as a crossover due to its re-design, but the Jeep hasn't changed its platform; Jeep Grand Cherokee has had its unitized body frame for awhile, yet sold its units as midsized suv's. Chevy and GM no longer have body types that classify as mid sized suv's. Its in this area that GM is clearly missing sales to the Jeep.

Bottom line is that GM needs to offer something in the $28k range like the others do.

I just don't see the reasoning in making the Equinox, trailblazer and the traverse. I can see keeping the Equinox and then adding this and dropping the traverse, or dropping the current traverse and naming this the traverse.
Equinox, Trailblazer, Traverse, Tahoe, Suburban..... That's a lot of SUV's for 1 brand. Add in the Enclave, Acadia, Terrain, Yukon, Yukon XL, Escalade, Escalade XL.... That's a ton of different SUVS....... |
