Chevy Sonic as a DD?

I would like to get my 86 Z28 in the garage away from city traffic, and also have a lot of the conveniences of modern vehicles. (Possibly back home, so I wouldn't know the next time I'd get to drive it.)

So with the Sonic out and the possibility of not being able to afford a Camaro LS or LT1 would the Sonic be a cool DD to y'all? If so I'd plan on getting a LT1 or LT2 with the 1.4 L turbocharged eco engine.

On the other hand, I could sink about $5000-$10,000 into my Camaro that I drive now for those modern conveniences such as remote start, remote locks, better interior, new paint job, engine mods ect, ect. However if somebody hit it I'd be uber-pissed off.

So thoughts? Opinions?

He told me that was the best damn answer he ever heard.

Well, you'd be getting 40 MPG in what is arguably one of the best subcompacts in the industry.

Only complaint I had with the Sonic I poked around a few days ago was that it could've used a lot more soft-touch plastic in the interior. Otherwise, overall quality and fit and finish were excellent.

I heard somewhere that the design team decided people would rather have the exposed headlights and taillights, and that's where a lot of the budget went into, therefore forcing them to put cheap plastic in the interior. I actually think more people care about less plasticy interior, it's what a lot of talk is about in interiors nowadays.

Eh, I kinda liked the interior. I especially liked what they did with the cluster. I mean, the car IS pretty cool, but I just can't see a person whose used to a V8 RWD Camaro with a nice low exhaust tone driving something like the Sonic. But I guess it'd be better than a Honda or Toyota!

Well, it is aimed at the younger person such as a college student as a sporty, hip coupe. I will say that they accomplished that. It seems attractive even to a fairly dedicated Camaro fan such as me or you. They also have dealer installed vynals and blacked-out aluminium wheels.

It is also meant to be a very good option as an entry level car, with the LS model not even having cruise control, power windows, or power mirrors.

I may also look at a crew cab Colorado, they're pretty nice with a small lift kit on em.
