That's why I like emulators, not of that flashing pink screen . The dip solution never did anything for me. It was so hard to play RPGs on that crappy battery back up because you had to hold reset while shutting the system off.

An emulator is a program that "emulates" another operating system. They are commonly used for DOS applications. But there are emulator programs for you're CPU that run the NES, 2600, SNES, Sega, ect..... Speaking of glitches....

Why not if its for free? Nothing like saving you're state through a platform game you've played a million times and picking up right where you left off. Plus you can modify rom files and make you're own games. I have a couple uber hardcore mods of Mario Bros and Mega Man on file somewhere.
