Was accused of hit and run

I own a small construction company and was dropping some materials off to the job site today. The painters car was parked in the street. Well I backed out of the driveway and left,20 minutes later I get a call from my employee tell me the painter thinks I hit his car and he's calling the Police. I said I did not hit his car and give the police my phone #. Well tomorrow i have to meet with the cops. I got a say I have backed into other cars in the past, but I always owned up to it.

If you have no damage on your car, they have no proof or video, they have no case. So if you did not do it, you have nothing to worry about.........The Truth Shall set you free!!!

pretty much yea. No body, no crime. If your car is clean and there's no paint transfer it's a case of he said-she said, which will get thrown out.

Pretty sure I'll be cleared I didn't do it. It's just a waste of my time on the weekend.

police report or not, if he reports you to his ins company, they will ask your to pay up or sue you. You then have to go to court.

I had that, false hit and run, cost me $600 cause they have to not show up to court 3 times to win by default. If I didn't show just once they would of won and were hoping.

In bad weather they wont respond unless someone is hurt, and you got a fun he said she said to deal with then.

I don't buy that for a split second. I can't just grab a plate number off a car with damage and say they hit my car and them have to pay... our judicial system may be bad, but it's not that bad. Sorry I don't buy that story, I think there has to be more to it.

If anyone sues you based on false claims, you have a duty and right to countersue for all costs and time spent.

If he talks to the police and shows his car, it will go away. If it does not, they have the burden of proof......simple.
