I look at it as a PLUS (not the cost) .... Coming from an 04 cobra .. it is nice to be FI from the factory with a built engine .... it makes it so EASY and CHEAP to get GOBS of horsepower

Hmm who here would take a Supercharged 6.2L Camaro from the factory ... Sign me up

stop acting like you wouldnt buy an S/C'd camaro. it's just another means to getting horsepower just like adding cubic inches.... i dont think of it as "cheating" it's an engine not a math test...

I would rather they used turbos though. Less leeching off the engine and better mpg!

People here were begging for a SC Z28 and now they criticize the GT500 for having a SC.

Actually, I didn't think I would need to since the point was obvious. Any car that can manage a 12.3 seond 1/4 mile on a cold, greasy (read: not prepped) track with a 20mph headwind is absolutely going to get faster on a sticky track on a nice, warm spring day without any wind. Just losing a headwind that strong is going to be worth more than most would think.

Absolutely no doubt, private owners will see 11's, although I doubt any magazine outside of a dedicated Ford rag with a drag racer on the payroll ever will.

I respect the great numbers of the new stang but "it does already have the charger on it" I am sure that all the extras like the charger, cold air, and the 3:55 gears had alot to do with those times. Don't be dogging the Camaro at $15,000 less without all those extras. Both cars are very nice. It depends if you like the OVAL or the BOWTIE. O by the way I LOVE WEARING SUITS!!!!!

Actually, the new eaton 4 lobes are supposed to be about as efficient as turbos, if not more.

Drag racing isn't the be all and end all of motorsports. Some people would like to see the Z28 as a road racer, similar in spirit to the original.

Which, unfortunately, is the only thing the GT500 is good for.
