Cars and Coffee v.10.29 *MyLord Edition*

It's definitely Fall now, the sunrises much later and it is COLD in the morning. Well not COLD, but cold by California standards. But this is California where car enthusiast abound and there seems to be an endless supply of the exotic, quirky, and just plain awesome.

I recently asked on our Facebook page what the oldest running car anyone had seen was. That post was inspired by a 1918 Peugot Saloon. This weekend we where graced by the presence of an 1897 Benz Mylord Coupe. It graced us with the great mechanical clatter that can only come from an 8hp 2-cylinder 4-stroke water cooled engine come. Such a rare curiosity was closely guarded too, by the oldest looking wiener dog I've ever seen. It seriously looked like it needed dentures. Since it would have probably been too risky to actually try driving it on Irvine, CA's streets the car was towed in. But it didn't come on just any tow-truck or trailer, it came on a very unique Unimog with a trick rear-suspension set up that allowed it to drop to ground level.

The Mylord might have stolen the show but there was also some other cool stuff present. Chrysler's SRT division had a display where they showed off their latest vehicles with questions being answered by some of their engineers. With them came a plethora of customized late model Chrysler vehicles. My favorite being a Wraptivo covered SSR equiped example which was apparently influenced by the famous Japanese tuner Rauhl-Welt. Then there was the RCR Lola T70 Mk 3B and the 300SL Replica Gullwing racer. Then right as the show was dying down in came a grouping of very cool hot rods, one of which was very right hand drive and very British.

You truly never know what is going to show up at Cars & Coffee every weekend and that is what keeps us coming back every weekend all year.

Hope you all enjoy this weeks pics:

That black challenger with the gold wheels looks sick! And I am not a big fan of those, but I'd drive that one.
