Hers is the light silver and does look gr8. She's finally got an automatic (she was tired of shifting in the Jetta) and I like the OnStar. It had plenty of power for her too. I didn't even ride in it...this is HER car.

1LT. I did find out that all the 2012 Cruzes come with the VTECECO motor and there is no longer a special ECO designation.

...Yes there is. You're probably thinking about the ECOTEC engine, GM's generic name for most 4-cylinder gasoline engines.

There is still a separate ECO trim. 39 MPG auto, 42 MPG manual.

Well, our bad there. She got the LT and the sticker said 38 MPG highway (with auto). Sweet car...she loves it.

The 2012 model got a 2 mpg bump over the 2011. Nice!

The Saturn we traded in was a 2000 model with over 200,000 miles and it was still getting 36 mpg Hwy miles. She has 15,000 on the Cruze so I feel like that is enough to make a fair assessment. How many miles do you have on the Jetta TDI and what kind of mpg you getting? We actually drove one and considered buying one before we bought the Cruze. The Cruze had a few more bells and whistles so we bought it. I have been wondering if we made a mistake. For the record, I would not buy another Cruze due to the poor MPG.
Are you sure that's not the average mileage overall? As in, city miles included? Try resetting your MPG calculator once you get on the interstate and see what it averages out to. Also might want to calculate the mileage manually just in case the built in MPG tracker is screwy.
