Talking In-car video of my 179 mph TX Mile pass in Z06

I ran my C6 Z06 at the Texas Mile yesterday. Only got 2 runs in, then packed it up and drove home. The wait was 3-4 hours between passes. 16 mph head wind kept everyone a little slower than expected. Temps 85F and sunny.

This pass was made in full street trim, on the 20" HRE wheels and Nitto Invo tires. As you can see in 1st/2nd, there were some traction issues.

Mods summary: Maggie TVS2300, American Racing 1-7/8 long tube headers with cats. The rest of the car is stock. LMR did the dyno tuning.

So, was it as much fun as it looks? I'm sure your seat was puckering there a few times!

Very nice, i was out there as well with my 5.0. I only managed a 159.1mph best tapping my 5th gear limiter just before the timers

It is fun, but to be honest I feel they overcharge for what you get in return. Waiting 3-4 hours between passes is a bit ridiculous when you are paying a couple hundred to run. From now on if I go, I'll only be going on Sunday to make runs. Supposedly much fewer cars run on Sunday.

Sunday was packed as well. The wait is more caused by cleanup. A mile and a half of runway is alot to get parts and fluids off of when a car breaks/wrecks. Yes it is expensive. I made 4 passes total, 3 sat bc i showed up late, and 1 sunday because i wanted to head out early to drive back 1300miles home. I could have done 4 saturday and 3 sunday according to people i spoke too after i left.

Congrats Tony,

I went down for the Sunday runs... I was scouting it out for my intention of running in the spring... It was slowed tremendously Sunday due to the crash... but there were a lot of people working to help get the track back in shape...

A friend of mine made two big runs on Sunday.... I showed up there at 7:30 and left by 1:00... Wish I could have found a few more Camaro5 members....

I've watched several in car video's and it look like they still have a big big bump though in this case it's just past the finish line... and one not too far out from the start line... what is your opinion about this...

Bump at the 1/4-mile mark is bad, you can hear my rpm climb when I hit that one - my tires are hazing momentarily. The bump at the shut-down area is bigger, but really only hurts the cars going over 200 mph, or cars with horrible brakes. I was able to slow down enough not to feel unsafe over that bump, but that has to do with my car being very good at braking too.
