Obviously, that will be settled later in the season, but if OU plays Okie State like they played Tech, then it's no contest. OU's got a lot of work to do if they want to win out.

RSokie, it's very apparent that in your world the only people who are allowed to criticize your team is a fellow Oklahoma fan. If anyone else does it (especially if it's a Longhorn fan) then they're just some kind of made-up fairweather fan in your book.

Both PonyMan and myself have been saying all season that we had hope for our team, but that Texas is very young and it'd be difficult for Texas to beat experienced teams like OU or OSU. We never had delusions of grandeur that our team would wipe the floor with anyone. You, on the other hand (as PonyMan pointed out), had no problem crowing over and over that your team would "roll" over every opponent this season. Now that OU has lost to an unranked team, it's time for you to eat some crow and handle it like a man. It's as simple as that. Yet you keep throwing out random insults to anyone who criticizes your team.

And least Randy keeps it real

We all knew it was a rebuilding year for Texas already. What's OU's excuse?
Thanks CamaroSkooter!!! \m/

For the most part I am done with Ponyman and his insults and moving on.
RSokie, I have been on the "College Football 2009", "College Football 2010", and "College Football 2011" talking College football and doing my fair share of trash talking along the way. RSokie, most of your comments are nothing but insults. PQ, Jekyll-N-Hyde, CamaroSkooter, Skar, ShnOmac, and even DirtyD all talk trash about other teams, but they back it up from a football perspective. I don't know if you are what we call a "T-Shirt" fan or if you are a OU alumni, but you can not just say to someone "your team sucks", and continue to spew out insults based only on your passion towards your team or your hate towards the other team.

I am sorry that I pointed out what I saw as OU's team’s weakness after the RRR game and what I thought would be OU's downfall. I did say the team that you are a fan of does suck, but I backed it up with "football reasons" and they came true (read post #875). PQ, and the above C5 members know that Trash is part of the talk, but you better back it up. RSokie, what did you expect when you say to someone "look me up because we are going to roll"!!! Even PQ knew I was pulling for OU to go all the way!!

So, in closing....let's move on!! When you want to tell me why UT sucks on the football field...great, because I will be right there telling you about OU also!!

Well, we have 2 weeks to debate about it, but who's it going to be? 'Bama or LSU? Game of the year in either case IMHO!

Well finally made it back to check this thread after the weekend that was....

Hmmmmmmm........where to start.

My beloved Crimson Tide looked like a good Div II school against Tenn. Tenn was well coached and played hard and did suprisingly well with a back up QB and their best receiver hurt. I was not impressed at all with Alabama. The only thing that I took comfort in was that we held them to 6 points but they ran for 102 yds( 92 net). This is a trend I do not like, playing to their competition and I do not like 30 minute games.

If they play this way on Nov 5 it will not be a pretty site at Bryant-Denny.

LSU-Al is now upon us , albeit 2 weeks away, and it is either put up or shut up time for both of them. My heart wants to chose Bama but my head is thinking of LSU because of TWO factors.....experience at QB and LES MILES.......and he is subject to do anything. PLus CBS has decided to have the game played at 7:00 pm....LSU at night is a tough thing, but we get to play at home.

My prediction is fading fast with OU imploding this past weekend. I have always said the SEC is a better conference because of the defenses, and Defenses win championships. When Bama played Texas ( the Number 1 defensive team against the rush) I knew we had a good chance since most Big 12 schools do not play defense liek we do, especially since most Big 12 teams do not rush......they pass and pass alot.

I only saw the highlights because of the terrible traffic from Tuscaloosa, but it appeared that TT played well above their heads. Even still OU should have won....they missed what a 28 yrd field goal that would have tied it?????????

All I can say it that I am stunned that OU lost this game, their defense looked great versus Texas...............the thing that comes to my mind is that OU drank the cool aid and was only worrying about 1 game......OSU and it bit them. It appears that OU was just showing up and expecting to win....kinda like Alabama did last year. They have all the talent in the world but the defense didn't show up......PQ has said the secondary was suspect and TT exposed it. SEC schools would have had a hard time with OU's passing attack....The problem I have said all along with U is that they can not score if they are on the side line and Texas Tech put them their.....31-7 at half??????????? I really wanted a chance to play OU this year, really bad, especially after the last time we played them..............the loudest I have ever heard Bryant Denny is when #1 OU strolled into Tuscaloosa...we lost 20-13.

Wisconsin.......I said a couple of weeks ago I was not sold on Wisc.....and now it seems that I was proven right.....MSU has a GOOD defense...not an LSU or Bama defense.....Of course I could only listen to the game on the way home from Tenn/Al and don't really know how the game played out but we see what Bama did to MSU last year in the bowl game........

__________________________________________________ ______________________

Notes and observances....

Boise St.......I HOPE they somehow get to play either LSU or Bama....please let the football gods smile upon Boise St........We will end all this Boise St talk.

OSU has a chance in my opinion to play for the BCS as long as they stay focused.

Stanford- Not sold on them at ALL...sure they have Luck but I can guarantee they would not rush for over 400 yds on Bama or LSU.

Clemson...............hmmmmmmm.....this team is impressive to me. Sure their conference is not as strong as the Big 12 or SEC but they are smacking people down. They are doing it with passing and rushing plus playing pretty good defense.

But as always time will tell the tale.

Not all SEC defensive Coaches Rush a lot lol

Look at our last 3

chizik from Auburn ( defensive cordinator )
Muschamp from Auburn ( defensive cordinator )
Diaz from Mississippi State ( defensive cordinator )

From what I have seen SEC defenses like to lose some size and get speed at all area's. We Rush usually 60% of the game.

Chizik stacked the line and brought the linebackers in and told the secondary to play man. ( won a NC this way )

Muschamp had peoples going everywhere his first year then he for some odd reason changed it ( IT WORKED ) and started going down his second year.
Muschamps big thing is the linebackers.

Diaz he is everywhere on the field. Right now he has 3 5star lineman for his line but his secondary are all VERY YOUNG. In my opinion they just need a year to get some age and time under them for what they have done so far under him I can say they are indeed getting there.
Diaz has lineman playing linebacker positions at times lol

I think all schools are different in every confrence. For instance Tenn and Arkansas always have big lineman kind of like Nrbraska.

I think its all depends on the coaches technique.

Normally I want to puke when I hear it said that the SEC game is the 'Real NC game' but this year it damn sure is. I don't watch college games that don't involve or effect OU but this one I damn sure will.

Agreed. And LSU is starting to get a good passing game going.

Even still OU should have won....they missed what a 28 yrd field goal that would have tied it????????? The feild goal would have brought them to within 7 points. But down by 7 is much better than down by ten. No telling wether OU would have got the ball back down by only 7 because up by ten TT just ran time off the clock by essentially kneeling on it.

All I can say it that I am stunned that OU lost this game, their defense looked great versus Texas...............the thing that comes to my mind is that OU drank the cool aid and was only worrying about 1 game......OSU and it bit them. The OU players had named their season. 'The chase for 8'.... On Twitter they'd say Chase for 8 reffering to the season. (8 NCs that is) So, ya. I had the distinct feeling that everyone on the team was waitingn for someone else to make a play.

I know the Big 12 does have defenses but it seems like the coaches philosophy is to out score everyone and put MORE emphasis on offense, where as the SEC coaches seem to have a Defense first attitude....kinda like you can't win if you don't score type thing versus we can score more than you.

I am still shocked at OU's loss......kinda stunned really. Not so by Wisconsin's loss.

I looked at all the numbers today about LSU/Alabama and they are very simliar..Bama has some edges in areas and really beat LSU numbers in quite a few catagories....problem is numbers don't play football. Players do and even though many in the state I live in don't realize it but these are 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21 yr old kids , albeit big and fast kids but still kids.

You never really know how players will react in certain situations.....LSU's mindset about Oregon was Auburn beat them so we will beat them. Still not sold on Oregon. WV and Miss St wins looked good early but Miss St fell off the map and WV got smoked by Syracuse.

Alabama played Penn St and so far that is their only loss, Arkansas is still playing pretty good.

In my opinion the LSU / Alabama game will come down to 2 factors...Line of scrimmage and turnovers. I don't figure it to be a high scoring game...maybe 17-14 or 21-20....points will be hard to come by and it could be a late turnover that decides it.

You will be able to tell alot about the game in the 2nd and 3rd series that Alabama is on Defense. The first series they will probably do alot of different things but after that they will be who they are.....which is a running team that uses play action pass.....JUST like Alabama. They have 3 pretty good backs and so do we....defenses are about even....and they have an edge in the QB department by only experience...talent wise I think we are even.

If I know Saban he will use LSU's aggressiveness against them espeically the young Corner " The Honey Badger" The most important player on the field may be the punter.

Agreed on all.

Like I said...... OU is nothing more than TT when Leach was there. But with better players. Score 50 give up 40. Cept OU had players on D too. So they'd be able to win a lot and then lose any time the offense couldn't get it done.

I picked LSU because they seem to create a TON of turnovers. That's my X-Factor. With no turnovers I just don't know. Tough call.

But I believe Stanford will be the team to play the SEC this year.

You spewed your trash talk all during the bedlam game so dont even go there. Yes I am an Alumni from OU and damn proud of it, and if you dont like to hear about my pride just put me on ignore. If you are going to dish it out expect to get some back in return.

I could really care less about your record. I have been a OU fan since I was a kid, and played football all through school except for college and that was only because of injuries I sustained in high school. So I think I do know just a bit about football and the inside variables it takes to make a winning season.

You can keep on coming in here and rehashing old news but I am done.

Moving on now......

Take away OUs sacks in the UT game and I think they'd be dead last in the country.

True, but Stoops konws the system as far as the BCS goes. He understands that they could get right back in it.

Of course, that doesn't mean he knows how to impement a plan.

I dont know I figure the boys are pretty huniliated right now and are wanting some revenge especially after what travis lewis came out and said about his teamates.

Stoops better get off his a## and come up with a better game plan and put some boys in there that WANT to play.

It has been the same since stoops 2nd or 3rd year slow first half and a different team the second half and it bit them right in the a@@ this time as it has before.

But on a good note I am in first place in my fantasy football league....YES!!
