Camaro Owners with Ducatis?

I'm very close to making a decision to get a Ducati. Thought I'd test the waters, who here rides Ducati? if so which one and pics please! I really want the new 848 Streetfighter!

I ride a Triumph personally, but regarding the 848 Streetfighter, I think the design looks a little disjointed. Going with the same 848 engine, I'd rather have the Evo supersport. I know several Duke owners here who love their bikes to death, and whichever model they ride, it gives them a big cheesy grin. There was always a bit of bad press about the integrity of the electrical systems. This may be problematic if you ride these in the rain everyday, but my mates have no more reliability issues with their Dukes, than any of us in the club with different makes.

I don't currently own one but I am a big fan. I have been wrestling with buying a Monster.

only American muscle for me, sorry im of no help. But I have always liked the Ducatis, as far as looks and all go. I just have never been sure of the maintenance required for one as I hear it is pretty expensive to have anything done with them. My Buell is so easy to work on I have always done it all myself in my garage.

Present and accounted for! 2008 1098R with open clutch, Gilles adjustable rearsets, carbon fiber mirrors and a few other Ducati upgrades. It's the stuff. Need to snap pics.

Also have a 2005 Screamin' Eagle V-rod that I love.

I'll chime in. I've owned two Ducatis.

A 2003 Monster 620 (hence my screen name) Sold in 2005.

and

A 2005 749 Dark. I had this one repainted, sold it in 2008.

Love me some Ducati! They are fantastic motorcycles, although in recent years their prices seem to have gone sky high. It's an even better owning experience now since they extended the maintenance intervals out. Although, working on Ducs is not complicated by any means. I did most of my own maintenance. Even the valve clearance checks on my water cooled 748cc 749 dark. I will probably pick up a used Monster at some point.

07 Monster S4RS for me. Not digging the race crouch much anymore. Mine is modified (of course! ) with 140rwhp + 84rwtq and is quite a handful at only 360lbs.

What is it you are asking? Do they perform? YES. Are they sexy? YES Are they light? YES Do they sound better than anything you've ever heard before? DOUBLE YES!

I figured I would throw it out there that the major service intervals are currently at 7500miles for valves/15k for belts and going out to 15k (valves only. No more belts!) on the newest motor (superquadro). So be prepared for a bit more expense over the life of the bike (except the quadro motor) but you just gotta love the desmodromic valve system simplicity and the lovely "mechanical" music it makes...

Here is cool animation of the desmo valve system for ya:
