Missed a few days because of family things....but the RRR was an interesting game..OU scored 21 point off of the defense...so they still win 34-10 without that.
My honest opinion of OU is that they are the Green Bay Packers. They do not need to run, then do not need to have a dominate defense because their offense is so good. AND I MEAN REALLY GOOD. There is only one thing that worries me about OU, really the only thing I think that can stop them......INJURY to Landry Jones...Kinda like Colt McCoy's injury in the BCSNCCG. OU puts a LOT of stock in his talents and abilities, BUT one bad hit and I think OU is FINISHED. I knew Texas would be a tune up game because of the inexperience at QB and like I thought OU's defense confused the young QB's. In 2 years Texas will be Oh so good. Alabama played Vandy...whoopie...I left the game mad. Alabama was flat, they didn't really play Alabama football. To me and the people sitting around me this game was a glorified scrimage in where Alabama worked on it's passing game, sure Trent got over a 100 yds. But it seems like they were practicing for the future.......this week will be no better when we play Ole Miss. Defense won on pure talent because they sure didn't play with the fire they had at Florida....but it is what Saban is trying to get out of Alabama and that is playing to your competition instead of a playing to a standard. Alabama has really one real game left and that is LSU and if they play anywhere like they have the last couple of weeks it will get ugly in Tuscaloosa on Nov 5. But like I have said before it appears to be an LSU/Alabama vs OU/Ok St winners for the BCS N/C in the Superdome. I watched the PAC 10 game last night Cal vs USC and it looked like a high school game. I honestly think some high school teams in Texas could beat them both. Wisconsin looks ok but remember the Rose Bowl last year, Clemson looks to be improving but their QB is kinda banged up. The countdown begins until Nov 5.

Oh I understand about back ups BUT when you play against real good teams that have a decent defense it looks alot different than coming in with mop up duty especially iof they haven't played much during the year just like when Braford got hurt and Landry came in....sure he may take a few meaningless snaps during the year but when he is introduced to a full on game with the pressure, atmosphere etc..... younger players at QB seem to struggle...other positions are not that bad or highly recognizable but QB....he is the man out front.
Hopefully Landry will stay heathy, I hate seeing kids get hurt...I like to see best on best....not back up on best.

If Landry Jones went down OU would be in trouble. Not saying the guy behind him wont' be a good one but he lacks game play. Landry came in for Bradford and that season was ruined as far as the expectations. That was supposed to be our mamoth year. Bradford goes down and OVER.
And the guy who came in was pretty good. (Landry Jones ) but not good enough till he got some experience.

If Landry goes down, then OU's national championship chances are gone. Drew Allen just isnt experienced enough to step up and carry the team.

imo the OSU/OU game will be a good Game for the sooners to prep for a possible NC. Besides a good year when both UT and OU are good OU/OSU is always a close hard fought game. OU's Secondary Vs OSU's WR Corp. |

Some are giving OSU the edge??????? I still say OU is like the Green Bay Packers...they zip the ball all over the field, never panic, and simply win. Barring any injury OU will play in the Superdome in January.
The only , and I mean only thing that I think will hurt OU in the BCS NCCG is the lay off especially since there is no conference championship. I may be wrong but I think you are only allowe 15 practices from the end of the season till the bowl game if time allows which means OU will sit for a bit and then start practice...it MAY affect the timing of the offense but that is a leap at this point with how well they are playing. One other point is the game with FSU, sure they came back and won but FSU made it hard and we are finding out FSU is not really that good right now. I wait till after Nov 5 to voice my opinion on the TIDE right now...they seem lack luster accept the Florida/Ark game maybe they are holding back but something seems like it is missing right now. One this is true and can not be disputed.......OU can not score if the offense does not get many chances....If a team has a ball control offense, plays a physical type defense that can cover in the secondary OU MIGHT have some issues.

Wisconsin looks a helluva lot better than ok. They're steamrolling. Not that last year has anything to do with this year, but they lost to a very good undefeated TCU team.
