I think it is pretty subjective. I usually call most ugly Camaro mods 'Ugly'.

Those chrome gill slit strips that defenderworx put on my car I thought were ugly on my car.

I always thought that 'Rice' had to be a import car.

As far as me, I'm old car and any Asian made car is a ricer no matter what performance it has. We used to always call sport bikes rice rockets ,but the term would also work for a car like a GTR

Also, I think everyone forgets that there was a time when foreign cars where really looked down on in the USA ,and many people didn't welcome them with open arms because we used to have more pride in our country than we do today.

A clean tasteful car isn't rice imo, at least that's the way I view it.

It doesn't bother me when people call my car rice though because it's typically coming out of the mouth of someone with a 14 second stock car that they couldn't change the spark plugs on. The biggest shit talkers are typically the least knowledgeable.
Even though the evo is more race modded than the subi the evo is rice and the subi with rims isnt?? Please explain.. I see you drive a subi yourself. I think you are the same type of shit talker yourself it would seem.

Someone who buys their "preformance parts" from Pep Boys, false badging, wings on FW drive cars, kid in honda civic with stickers and other stick on body modifications, people that think stereo systems make their cars faster, and if i can fist your fart can muffler you are a ricer.

I consider RICE more of a look than performanced based ... a bunch of non functional items on a car to me is considered RICE... I don't care if you have 50hp or 1000hp ...

The following is the new criteria for me:

1. Has to be a FWD or AWD setup with transverse engine.
2. Has to cost less than 35k on the MSRP.
3. Has to driven by someone under the age of 25, with a bad driver record of course.....
4. Has to have lots of stickers.
5. Has to have an over sized spoiler.
6. Has to have colored halos.
7. Has to have a fart cannon type exhaust set up or note.
8. Has NOS.
9. Has over sized guady wheels.

- If a car meets at least 5 out of the 9 criteria I listed it officially qualifies as rice. Even a domestic car can be rice in my eyes, its more the style of the car nowadays rather than where it came from.

Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, Kia, Isuzu- Even if built in North America.

THat's about as far as I would go in definition.

Not saying I wouldn't like a GTR, Lexus, Acura, Inifiniti, or even the Hyundai Genesis or Equus.

I haven't seen many oversized spoilers on this site.

And if they have all 5 of those then maybe so.

Well where did the big spoilers, guady wheels and colored halos come from? Let's face it too, rice comes cheap and when is the last time you saw someone 55 years old driving something that might be mistaken for rice?

Any mods that make the car look tacky.
Usually oversized parts, wings, bumper.
Excess stickers on the car, and ugly color combos.
