A big purpose of the Volt is simply to bring people into dealers, then put people into Cruze Ecos.

Volt ain't worth $43,000. The 5,000 or so people in the USA who believe in the global warming myth already own a Prius.
Why buy Volt when you can have a nice Cruze for half price? |

I'm thinking 2 or 3 times what a normal car would cost. So looking at what you are getting, it isn't priced all that high. Yes, it is expensive compared to a compact car sold by an entry level brand. But then again ... just about everything else on the road is expensive compared to such cars too. Yet nobody really cares when someone spends $40,000 on a Silverado, but when its a Volt all of a sudden thats too much?
