I had a better time because I knew and met more people than in GA. I expect C53 to be more fun because I will have all those people from past events, add in Camaros to the Maxx and anyone I meet new in Indiana. Frankly I'm not going to camaro5fest. I'm going to Camaro Fest. Huge kudos to everyone from Camaro5 for the hard work and efforts that go into an event like this. I truly appreciate it but I am a Camaro and Camaro people enthusiast and not to discredit you in any way but I'm not going because it's put on by Camaro 5. In fact I'd prefer it was billed as Camaro Fest brought to you by the members of Camaro5.com so it was more open to all Camaro enthusiast.

This post not meant to inflame, offend or discredit anyone involved in camaro5fest3, 2 or 1

I could only read one page of those threads where they all just jumped in and started shrieking about how our cars are ugly pieces of junk. It was hilarious. Jealous much? I mean, really, who are they trying to convince about how superior their cars are-- everyone else, or themselves? They just get downright UGLY about it.

Overcompensation much? Because, let me tell you... all that high-horsepower, big, fancy expensive equipment you own? It'll never compensate for the equipment God didn't give you.

In any case, they need some of these...

All I have to say is that I think for the most part the mods do a great job and that they let quite a bit go. If I'm still here they can't be that strict because I can be a real ass at times.

Best forum on the net by far.

Hugger, good time hanging with you at MidOhio. Cool racing and great people. Camaro enthusiast events are awesome!

The above statement is not meant to suggest that events put on and attended by non Camaro/enthusiast events are not as, or even more awesome than Camaro Enthusiast events. Nor is it intended to suggest that Camaro enthusiast events are not the most awesome events.

Some battles just can't be won.

In the few years I've been on camaro5 I've learned one thing... You can't change what people think of you.

If people don't like this site they probably have rationalized a good reason for feeling that way.

Success is such a silly thing to try and measure... I have no clue if this site is really successful... what is the measuring stick to determine success???

Even if we had some proof of our success... there are those that will never accept it.

For me, this has been a lesson in "take the good with the bad". I have no Idea if we're good moderators or not.

I couldn't tell you if C5F is a good event or not... there are way more events bigger than ours so I guess it could easily bee seen as a failure...

But to take criticism on why we named it Camaro5 fest... I don't even have an answer for that... I can't begin to defend that... And it was my decision to do so... But in our defense, unknown to us at the time, there already is a major event in NY, I believe called Camaro Fest. There are multiple National Camaro events that we felt were prominent and historic. Camaro Nationals, Camaros at Carlisle, Fbody Gathering... BIG events that deserved our respect as the new kids on the block...

The fest is about our members... our way of giving back to you all who make this site what it is. But it's not an exclusive club. All are welcome to attend... Mustangs and Challengers have been at both fests.... why would other Camaro organizations not feel welcome. It's called camaro5 fest because it is for you... It's not for the staff... most of us don't even get to put our cars in any of the events... I think Tag is about the only one who has... I've raced once at the fest... one trip down the 1/4 mile...

Not sure why I typed all that. I'm sure it doesn't change the opinion of those who are justified in criticizing us.

At least it might give a little insight as to why....

I sincerely wish I could make all 50,684 members here happy with the staff, the site the fest, etc....

At the end of the day.. I'm going to have to take the criticism like a man and consider it objectively and apply it when applicable and hope for the best.

At the same time take the compliments like a man, be humble and grateful for it and when applicable use it as confirmation that I'm at least sometimes doing it right.

At the end of each day, that's all I got.

In regards to my post and no others, the need to differentiate between an existing event and the one sponsored by Camaro5. Ok, I'm cool with that. I'm sorry that you took it as an open attack on C5 and your hard work. My earlier response to another moderator was my own personal opinion on why I sm planning on attending with 700 others that signed up in a week. The cars and more importantly the people. If there is criticism on my part I think it would be that other national/big regional events get so little mention on here. They're all good. All a blast. All full of enthusiast. Being a website of enthusiast I just think it would be nice if some of these big events got better placement and billing on here. One person out of several thousand members opinion.

The only thing we discourage is Spamming an event all over the forum.

And we ask that if it is a regional event you please keep it in the appropriate region.

Outside of that, members like you, are free to post links, signup lists, whatever you want, related to any event.

Again, trying to be objective in reading your comment. It seems that you think we diminish other events that we aren't directly involved in...

Of course we the staff are going to be more active in C5F related threads as that is our event that we are invested in. But we don't deliberately hide threads discussing other Major events.

In fact a big reason why we moved the fest to Aug is to avoid conflict with other events, including first time events.

Threads live and die on their own. I'd be willing to bet there are threads here for each event you'd like to see more of... We make no effort to control the popularity of one thread over another. Of course some will disagree as that is their justified position. I won't even try to change their opinion. It's a loosing battle. Nobody wants to look at both sides of the coin objectively.

Like I said. we can't make everyone happy.

I'm truly sorry you are one of the ones unhappy with us.

I don't know what else to say to help you see our side of the situation.

You guys can have the last word.
