I couldn't see the tree, but maybe the STi redlighted and just gave up. I can't play the sound here at work but maybe the STi broke something on the start? Even if the Subie driver knew what he was doing, I dunno if he could've beaten a Z06.

Not to be a stick in the mud but did you check out the Evo X GSR vs Corvette in the video response?

Can't see the vid at work but obviously something is wrong with the WRX driver. I think a Camry can hit the quarter in 16 seconds.

In drag racing I'd go with a Mustang or other Pony car. STI's are quick but drag racing isn't really what they are made for.

Can that Z06 do this though?

STi's are 13 second cars, but if you don't rev the hell out of them they bog down hard. In watching that I'm thinking it's either not really an STi or the driver was afraid to rev it. Don't believe that's an example of STi performance.

That EVO response was pretty impressive though.

I would hope the people who watch this video would take away how horrible the driver of that car was, this says little about the sti. I could run 16's on my scooter.

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

That looked like a regular WRX, not an STI.

lol how in the hell is this video a "fail". the racer had a bad race. big whoop everybody has had a bad day where they couldnt get what they were aiming for.

just to let u know what ur comparing. a 40k subby STI with a turbo 4, to a 100k Z06 with a 7.0L V8. FYI the z06 motor is 3 times bigger than the subbies. now watch a stock sti run down the track with a good launch they run low 13's. toss 5k in to a stage 2 with a front mount and boy would that vette me seeing tail lights all the down the track.

Actualy im comparing a drag run of 16+ seconds to an expected time in the 13's.

Fail.
