Cadillac CTS-V Transmission Major Issue

Has any of you heard about the CTS-V's transmission issue?

I've heard 2 stories,

First one's about a friend of mine whos a street racer who owns a CTS-V, which is of coarse supercharged, and hes got aftermarket headers and exhaust system. After our man got the car tuned to get more horses, his transmission breaks. yep, it actually breaks.

Then the other day i was at an aftermarket shop and we talk about the CTS-V and the professional says that this car is known for its weak transmission that cannot handle more power.

So what do the experts at this respectable forum think?
I'd really like to hear ur opinions

Do a search, you'll find some issues. But if you search any driveline problem on any car forum...you'll find issues.

It really depends on how much power they added, how they abused it, what kind of tires were they running, etc.

Also, what year of V? Gen 1 or Gen 2?

Besides, let's all just upgrade the engine, and never worry about drive train and brake upgrades...

He said it's supercharged, so I assume it's a new one.

Same trans as the camaro, with one extra gear in the planetaries (5 vs 4). It's unsurprising it doesn't hold up under the extra power a modded one makes, plus the cts-v's weight.

That's probably because you have a fast and furious quote in your signature. God has deemed you unworthy.

What does that have to do with anything lol thats my favorite quote ever.
Now the font has been changed to Times. But the other typeface that was there before is so hard to read. Just letting the OP know so people respond to their posts.

The automatic trans also has its own computer. Savvy tuners know how to tweak this for quicker shifts, more firmness, etc... Some custom tuners don't know what they are doing and could actually cause the trans to fail just from a bad tune. My '09 CTS-V is at 550 rwhp and has had zero trans issues.
