Nothing like putting your eggs all in one basket eh?

Just seen his speech on the news. Somehow they managed to--within the same speech mind you-- condem GM for asking for loans, basically state GM was using the government for a crutch...something they swore they would not let Gm do for long....but yet somehow claim to "partner" with GM to build the "next generation of clean cars."

So which is it? Either you are going to right the ship and move on or you are going to partner with them. This isn't polotics...You can't have it both ways in the automotive industry.

Listen, I'm a Democrat. I'd love to see this administration work and do good. Obama, while not my first choice(third) was better then McCain, the guy I didn't vote for(fourth). But the minute ANYONE tries to jam things down my throat is the minute it fails. At least as far as I go.

I'd rather ride a rickshaw to work then drive a boring car...and the minute they start forcing our companies to make boring cars is the minute our companies lose my support. I'm all for pitching in and helping with the environment. I plan on buying both a Volt and a Camaro. But the minute I lose my choice to do so its over. Its all or nothing with me.

I guess I'm going to have to take DAMN good care of my next two new cars. Its looking like they might be the last two I ever buy..lol.

Sorry for venting. I only really visit two different forums. This and a football one. Guess you all became collateral damage.

Tata's for everyone!

If they take credit for the volt after firing Wagoner.....

Tesla Motors is THE future. No one can kill the Amerikan desire to drive and make war. (insert Gen Patton Speech).

When you see your buddy in a tata.... you'll know what to do....

However I would have handled it differently instead of punishing the larger amount of people in the forum that can talk about politics. If it were me in charge, just create an area in the forum where political talk can be discussed and if people get out of hand, they get barred from being able to post in that created area or thread. Simple as that..That way everyone is happy and it becomes easy to control..

There was a area in the forum where political talk could be discussed....It required way too much attention from the mods to keep it civil and "family rated". Many people have proven in the last 2 days that they cant seem to handle political discussions while keeping it civil or spinning it into some crazy political thread that had nothing to do with the original post.

It is simple, as I explained above. Those who get out of hand in those threads simply get barred and can't post in the political thread anymore..It is simple code to lock certain names out of threads..Problem solved..You even set it up where you have to be a member of this forum for a few months before you are allowed to post one message in that area of the forum.. That is to keep people out who create users to cause problems...This is done quite frequently in other forums and I feel it is necessary to keep the sanity of those of us who can and want to talk about these very important issues. I don't understand why you don't want to discuss these issues however if you didn't, then you simply need to stay away from that area of the forum and not comment...

If we lose our manufacturing infrastructure, especially those like GM, we're sitting ducks. When WWII hit our shores, places like GM shifted to bomber and transport construction. My grandfather, too old to go to war, built electrical systems for aircraft back then. God forbid we need to do that again, but with things as they are, we may. I'm glad the administration is doing something to keep our manufacturing from going under completely.

Yet AIG and the banks get a blank check with no conditions, Oh that's right their the ones that give big campaign contributions. Now hes going to use this opportunity to push his agenda of econoboxes.

The quoted posts above are the very reason why this isn't allowed here.

We're done discussing it.

And just so everyone knows, the OP sent me a PM asking if he could post this. I said he could but I knew it wouldn't last long. The above comments are my proof.

How many more examples do you need.

Your still forgetting the time it takes to mod a thread.... our mods have better things to do than to babysitt forums. I agree with you that we should be free to debate political objects..... Just seems better to do it on a political forum and not a camaro forum.

We couldn't contain it then and we can barely contain it now.

Another one closed.
