what i dont think the government understands is that if they give the automakers the money....they aren't going 2 see the companies go bak 2 profitting overnight...its going 2 take sometime nd frankly i think the govt is being a little to strict...they are giving them not very much time to restructure nd come up with a plan....plus it's not like the politicians are going to understand this plan becuz they arent business leaders theyre politicians and half the reason the automakers are doin so bad is cuz of this crappy economy....sure the govt can give whatever company that was bailout money...which the compnay went and spent on spa treatments, food, hotel rooms in excessive amounts.....its ridiculous....

ok rant over for now lol!

That being said, I don't know the sales figures before the economy problem hit. I don't beleive it would be good for the others if Chrysler went OOB.
I have to agree with this. Toyota makes cars that are 100% more reliable than Dodge in my opinion and even though I love the looks of the Challenger, I would be concerned about engine issues while I would feel safer with any other vehicle.. All my friends that have owned Dodge's have had way more problems than either my Ford's or Gm vehicles have had..

I don't want Chrysler to fail by any means, however it has pissed me off that they've gotten billions in tax dollars when they're privately-owned and their parent company could easily spot them a few billion.

Like it or leave it...but definitely leave it alone..I have yet to see any impressive vehicle or anything for that matter built by government owned or run enterprises anywhere in the world. Were it not for Capitalism, we would not be talking about the 5th Camaro. I would like to see someone make a case for this car to the Auto Czar's.

"True" Capitalism curbs corporate greed and limits bad policy because the execs know that if they mess up, the gov. won't cover them. People at AIG and the like knew they were "too big to fail," which is why they took the risks they did.

I hope they dont fail. It would be horrible to have any of the big 3 fail. But if one had to ford is my vote. Chrysler and Gm are my two favorite car companys of all time. Ford I have had horrible luck with including an 05 expidetion blow an engine at 8,000 (yes eight thousand) miles.

Ford has not taken the money big difference. Bamster has no Powa over them at the momement. Once you take the money it's like taking cash from the mob... they gonna want something back of course.

I think anybody who actually builds something deserves to stay in business, if Chrysler goes under it will be much worse for that part of our country than can be estimated with any accuracy.

AIG and others that make their money by producing nothing can KMA on their way to getting locked out.

That is one that Ford can be proud of...they're still the masters of their fate! Only time will tell how far the GOV is going to run GM/Dodge into the ground! At the rate things are going, 5years from now if you want a serious american sports/muscle car, the Mustang may be your only option.

But you never know what sneaky tactics they could pull to get Ford under their thumb as well. After mortgaging their whole company, name included..

And Geitners move to the banks..

"I'm gonna make them an offer they can't refuse, Mr. Obama."

*In an emperor palpatine voice* "Gooooood Gooooooooood."

cars are like women, some are old, some are new, some get turned on easily some need a lot more help, some you just wanna drive into the river, some you can't wait to get inside of, some are expensive to maintain, some are low maintenance, however if you treat them right, you'll have her for the rest of your life.....
