Currently holds their fastest lap in this years round of testing (possibly in all their testing ... I can't find 2010 for some reason). A bunch of exotics are around the 1:36 mark this year. And the Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca some 5 seconds slower than them, which is strange because I remember hearing several people claiming that the the Boss was faster than a Z06.

And I'm sure you know that those changes in equipment are not worth nearly 7 seconds on track like Laguna Seca.

I'm really hoping Motortrend is doing the 2012 ZR1 with the Sport Cups as well...as of now the Z06 is showing 1.4 sec faster than pappa bear.
I also REALLY want to see the 2012 GT-R...I hate what the car represents but respect it dearly. Existing Laguna Lap times FYI: http://www.motortrend.com/features/laguna_lap/

Yeah .... not quite. Thats more than 3x higher than what actually happend. Of course, things don't scale linearly, but they should at least be in the same ball park, especially on two courses that are known to favour handling over power. That said, I will agree that a GM ringer could have got a better time.

i would personally like to see a MOSPORT or Donington -long comparison.
both tracks have off camber corners and high speeds as well as low speed mechanical grip. Mosport has a carousel.

Hold on, don't the Laguna Seca Boss run on R-Compound tires? In any case those who were saying the boss mustang is faster around the track than a Z06 is in La La Land.
