The Legend Lives On

As LBM said, this little monsta may have hip dysplasia but only a vet can make a good diagnosis. In the meantime, make sure he's eatin', drinkin', peein' and poopin' as these are all good signs. Also, watch how he and his littermates interact as he may be subject to "bullying" at the food bowl (whether it's mom or a real dish ).Don't let any one write this little guy off, he may just be a little underdeveloped and need a helping hand to catch up. Give him (and the rest) lotso love and make sure he can eat and drink and use the litter box in peace. Thanks for opening your home and hearts and fostering these fur babies. Bless.

I have no advice on your kitten problem, per se. I DO HAVE A RIDDLE THAT INVOLVES KITTENS.
![]() Okay, it goes like this: On my way to Saint Ives, I met a man with seven wives, and each wife had seven sacks, and in each sack there were seven cats, and each cat had seven kits. So altogether, how many men, wives, sacks, cats and kits were going to Saint Ives? ![]() Give us your answer. If there be no correct response soon, I'll tell y'all the straight story. |

hotrodsally....no need to thank me but I know where you're coming from! Too many people think of cats (and other animals but especially cats) as disposable objects without feelings or ties. Our cats give us laughs and sometimes high blood pressure! They are still to young for solid food or using the litter box. There doesn't seem to be any bullying, just sibling playing & boys will be boys horse play.

All good and hear what your saying. The way I came about getting the one I have was searching the internet. I found a lady that had one local, wanting 1500 for him, which was half what she paid. He was sick and needed vet assistance. I knew this by looking at him and knowing he has issues, as she said IBS. Which me knowing cats knew it was more than that. I went home and tried to decide if I wanted a problem cat or buy a kitten and make sure they are of solid breed. I choose to go ahead and take him in knowing that it would cost me. I paid her 600 for the cat, then turned around and spent well over 1K to get him back to health. He still is on a special diet, but has gotten a lot better over time. He broke his leg a few days before Christmas. Which I believe was part of his malnourishment when he was younger. He had to have the ball of the hip removed. Well over the tune of 2K and closer to 3K to have fixed. So to be honest I have taken in cats, and have family that actually rescues many cats a year and takes them to be fixed. They actually cut the ear on one side so they can still be out door cats and the dog/cat catcher wont get them. Since they know they have been fixed. I do fully understand where you coming from. So didnt take it personal at all. I just choose to have either a bengal or savannah as a cat. The breed of either one is more dog like, but are just a large or one of the largest breed of cat you can buy. Sure there not cheap, but I dont mind. I have had 2 bengals, one died a few years back and was just awesome personality. The other went with the ex-wife. Maybe one day I will get another rescue cat, but right now need a cat that will grow up with my existing cat and be close in size. A normal house cat, just wont do. He right now when sitting down is at my knee cap and over 20lbs, and full of muscle. So need to find something that he can play with and more his size and type. J |

I read your PM too. A lot of people would have turned their backs knowing big vet bills loomed ahead. I commend you for going ahead anyways. I now know where you're coming from and that's cool!

I have an 18lb cat (we found him living in our garage when he was teeny tiny) - we think he's a Pixie Bob. My hubby wants a Bengal or a Savannah, they're very cool cats.... This is Rudy
![]() Our other rescued stray, Stumpy (named for his short tail....) ![]() Gotta love anyone who takes in and loves the stray or abandoned kitties...
