A similar thread like this was shut down because of the negativity and off topic from the Camaro. I like what Rick has done the last 10 years, but to get a LOAN there are stipulations. You either do it or NOT get the loan.

Besides since the announcement GM's stock is up 6% in aftermarket trading. Suck it up and let's get back to Camaro talk

cars are like women, some are old, some are new, some get turned on easily some need a lot more help, some you just wanna drive into the river, some you can't wait to get inside of, some are expensive to maintain, some are low maintenance, however if you treat them right, you'll have her for the rest of your life.....

I whole-heartedly agree with this statement. It just sucks that people believe that since the General took taxpayer money, it's somehow no longer a "private" company. I think that's a BS stance, but it's pretty tough to have a conservative voice these days, at least for the next couple years.

I hardly see how this is off-topic from the Camaro. GM builds Camaro. GM owns Camaro. Things that affect GM obviously should concern those of us who want a GM product............more specifically.....the Camaro............................and these days....................the ABSOLUTE MOST visible model IS the Camaro. Prove me wrong on that one!

Do I think for one second the news of one of the CEO's "quitting or being quit" affect the future of the Camaro......................... not in your wildest dreams! Aint't gonna happen.

BUT, could this be a good thing for GM, yeah! If things ain't working right, it's time to shake things up a bit.

Mods may take this off b/c of it being political, but if they do, then it just tells me that they don't want us to talk about things that GM doesn't want them to allow...................which is very sad! It would not be the first time, which begs the question.....Who's playing politics?

I have a Camaro on order, I have been loyal to GM since my first vehicle and never wavered...never once. So if a topic comes up about the upper-management of GM, I should be able to discuss it freely w/o fear of a "SHUNT".

After all, we all know that here on Camaro5, at least there are 2 sides to every story..........instead of the one-sided media pit-bull dogs! If you ask me, this is the "lesser of two evils" as far as press goes.!

Wasn't a private company in the first place. NYSE symbol = GM

I don't think the mods remove stuff because GM doesn't want it, they remove stuff out of respect and are only interested in making sure this forum stays civilized and positive.

I certainly hope the forced removal of Rick doesn't affect the Camaro sales, and I seriously doubt it will. I just hope the new guy is up to the task and I wish him well. Lord knows dealing with Congress is going to be brutal on whoever runs the General.

And yeah CanadianCamaro, I meant private industry. It's late.

I don't believe this will affect the production of the Camaro, or GM too much, I mean one thing they teach you about being a good leader/manager head of a business etc... is that if you did your job right, and you were the boss you needed to be, that you should be, the company can and will go on with out you. I hope so in this case!

I'm curious, does Rick get to keep his CTF vehicle?

It's still private industry. Every tax payer represents the Gov. Only shareholders represent GM. Clever, but it's still considered private sector.

Gov. Has no assets or industry and shouldn't.

Not that this isn't correct but they can't get away with lieing about something like this. You don't just fabricate something that the white house put out there.

People believe this because not everyone thinks GM should have gotten a loan from the government. Now that GM has government money, the gov. essentially can dictate terms of the loan. If GM doesn't follow, they take all of the money away and forces GM into Ch. 11. For whatever reason, GM REFUSES to declare Ch. 11 and therefore is at the government's mercy.

Is it BS? Yes
Is there anything we can do about it? No
