From what I understand, nobody requested that he step down. The Auto Task Force hinted that it would be a good idea, but Wagoner stepped down on his own accord.
It's not like he would've stayed there for much longer. Board of directors almost fired him in December.

I understand the mods don't want a flame war going on the boards, but I think it's obvious people want to talk about this. It would be nice if people could behave like adults so they don't feel it's necessary to close these threads.
