I'm proud of you Jekyll, you've been doing some studying on the Aggie War Hymn. I also see you used "A&M" instead of just copying "aTm" off the helmets.

For the bonus round can you tell me what the A&M stands for?

The OU network....interesting because everything I've read said OU and OSU were looking at doing a joint network. I don't think OU has the base to have as successful a network as Texas does.

As for the rivalry game...why does it have to end again? Because A&M is leaving the conference? I would hate to see this series end, personally. There are plenty of other nonconference rival games that happen every year...Florida v. FSU, ND v. USC, UGA v. Ga Tech.

If it is over (and I hope not) will OU be willing to change their rivalry game with OSU to play Texas Thanksgiving weekend?

Whipping boys? You're puttin A&M below Vandy? I think you underestimate how A&M in the SEC could sway some Texas HS football recruits. I'm guessing they will have higher ranked recruiting classes starting with next years class and that Arkansas and LSU will lose some Texas HS players to A&M in the next few years.

I can agree that going into the SEC West and facing Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Arkansas, Ole Miss, & Miss. St every year is a tough schedule to say the least. It's not like Texas, OU, Ohio St, Wisconsin, Oregon, or anyone else for that matter, could just walk in and have their way in the SEC either.

Regardless, it took balls to make the move so we'll see how this all pans out.

A$$holes and Morons

ok lets be serious Agricultural and Mechanical

its actually a very good school to go to and used to be a school you had to be in the top 3% of your class to get into but now they got certain requirements.

As for the rivalry game between Texas and a&m I will miss it as well as im 30 years old and have been to it every year of my life since I was 6 months old.
The word im hearing is Texas is speaking to ND about having a Thanksgiving night Game. ND who said they will stay independant has said they could very well be interested in that.

oh and by the way Texas asked a&m if they would like to start a Texas network along with Tech and they were told No.
My question why not ? Why cant someone just look past there hate for UT and allow a joint tv network of all Texas Teams.

The rivalry is fun but the hate towards another school is sad. Most of these kids went to HS and grew up together. You can say what you want but MOST not all but MOST aggies take it beyond a football game and take it a little to serious.

I wish we could have a network of all Texas college teams and also play Texas hs games on. Show america just what the state of Texas has to offer in SPORTS especially football. But No someone cant seem to allow themselves to be associated with another school.

so we took our idea and went with it. BTW I never said I was 100% for the LHN as I do feel other fans of other schools should be able to watch there team if its on that network.

And yes if OU gets a network it will be OSU the state has already said OSU follow OU in things like that. ( awsome how two rivals can work together to offer there state such awsome tv )

I hate A&M is leaving because they are opening up the Texas borders of recruiting to everyone now. Oh well its all about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

You know everyone wants to say Texas is greedy for money then why is A&M leaving ? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ MORE MONEY
ITS NOT ABOUT TEXAS AND THE NETWORK LOFTIN SAID SO HIMSELF yall want more money you should have been marketing yourself better.
advertising the Dixie chicken isnt advertising.

I feel for the aggie fans who are now going to be traveling every other week to out of state games thats gonna get expensive.

So yeah I say tear your A$$ if you want to go. Texas has been working to make money while a&m has been sitting on there A$$E$ whooping.

I'm tired of hearing about it either leave or stay lets just get it over with so we can move on.

You notice OU is quiet they realize they have a season and dont need off the field BS interfering.

and I dont put a&m below Vandy right now until proven I dont put them anywhere.

No! Thank you for showing how we can sum up 16 years of atm BIG-XII membership.........just like you, most aggies will say "what a five years". See, here at The University of Texas we count our success in "Decades".

See; don't get me wrong I am not bitter, just sad. Seeing atm move is like having your goofy cousin that you only see during the holidays move far away, and someone else gets to beat him up instead of you.

Texas won't lose any more players than they do now to in conference rivals like OU. Yes, I would put Vanderbilt over A&M. What's the Agg's record against SEC teams over the past few years? Do you watch much SEC football? It's a whole different animal. It didn't take balls to move, it took $$.
BTW....A stands for Agriculture and M stands for Machinery and I didn't have to look it up. A&M produces some of the best doctors of veterinary medicine in the country.

Exactly what I said with recruits has already happened. The Aggies lost a recruit this year to Tennessee because he was quoted as saying he wanted to attend TAMU but couldn't turn down a chance to play in the SEC. Believe what you want dude, but unless you know what every recruit in the state of Texas thinks I have my opinion and you certainly have yours.

I see you said "we"....what championship in what sport did you win? Or are you using "we" in the "I attended the University" role? I will assume the latter.

I'm and Aggies fan, I won't apologize for that. You don't like Aggies...cool, whatever. I have family that went to A&M, Texas, and TTU...I never played college football or won a championship and I couldn't care less about the Big XII rodeo, gymnastics, tennis, or freakin juggling champion so you keep spouting those awesome stats bro.

Texas has been a public University a lot longer than TAMU (only since 1963) so they have a big head start. The Aggies have always been the underdog in the Big XII and I like that role. I like where this team is going and I think the future looks bright. You keep looking at "Decades" as you put it, because now you have to start over. So far, this decade hasn't been stellar for you now has it?

If you want to count your future success and keep telling the world how awesome Texas is playing against a overall weak conference with only two strong teams in Texas and OU, cool.

BTW, I like the goofy cousin thing, that got me to chuckle....almost as good as an Aggie joke.

I agree with most of what you've said. I see it as Nebraska started this and now A&M doesn't want to follow Texas around either. Personally, I miss the old SWC and I think the Big XII is a conference that could have been as strong as the SEC with OSU, Nebraska, TTU, Mizzou, and A&M getting better in the last few years.

Yep, the money has ruined it. If Texas pulls off the ND series for Thanksgiving, that would be an excellent move if ND steps up some. I'm not sure who would own the rights to televise it.

For the Texas Schools network, I've heard that but I've never read about it. I would also like to know why it didn't happen. My guess, without knowing anything about it of course, would be it fell apart becasue of infighting between the schools over control, time, and money. A Big XII network divided up by state in the way Fox Sports has done, would have been a good idea.

As I understand it, OU has been quiet because they talked about jumping to the Big 10 last summer when NEB left and they were told "no" in a not so polite way because they didn't belong to the AAU. I think they are waiting to see what happens.

John, you and ponyman think alike. We'll just have to see what the recruiting classes look like over the next few years, huh? It's becoming a pointless arguement.

If you would put Vandy over A&M, where would Texas, OU, or Nebraska have finished in the SEC last year? Which brings a question....You a SEC or Texas fan? I'm not sure where you're coming from in all of this.

Actually, the "A&M" doesn't stand for anything specific since 1963. The "A&M" is a link to it's history before it became a University. TAMU was orginally called The Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas until it transitioned from an all male college and military academy to a public civilian University and allowed women to attend in 1963.

You were sooooooo close but maybe you should have looked it up just to be sure.

I watch a lot SEC Football, best conference in the country, and a large part of my family is from Louisiana and are LSU fanatics. Since '06 TAMU has only played 4 games against the SEC...LSU, Arkansas (twice), and Georgia and they are 0-4 in those games...and that means what exactly next year?

The way I see it, TAMU played pretty good game against Arky and LSU with a brand new defense, a WR turned QB that started halfway through the season, and losing their leading rusher. They are better this year IMO.
