port injection vs direct injection... look at the V6 in the camaro... its DI. just has a spark plug in addition to it.

gasoline technology has outpaced gasoline technology in a lot of areas and gasoline engines are just now starting the conversion over to diesel tech.

5 mins til lunch... getting there.

and yeah i don't know direct injection yet.. i know a diesel has nozzles though and glow plugs.. just haven't really had any to tinker with

glow plugs serve the purpose of preheating the combustion chamber to help ignite the fuel/air mixture.

and diesel injectors are much more robust due to the fact that they spray the fuel in the combustion chamber and have to deal with the extreme heat and pressure of combustion as well as the much higher fuel rail pressure.
