Blue Lights in my rearview mirror, Saved by OnStar

Well needless to say, I was on my way home last night fom having a couple of cold ones at the local watering hole. I was in a slight rush to get home to meet my 10 year old daughter that was at her Great Grandma's 91st Birthday Party. She called and said I'm the drive way and I am waiting on you.

Time had slipped away through the evening watching a little Pre Season Football.
Knowing that I live in a small community known for Blue Lights lighting up the skies.

As I pulled up to the traffic light, I noticed a outline shape of a patrol car in my rearview mirror. I only had a slight moment of anxiety. I then saw the Blue Lights exploding and lighting up the skies. I quickly grabbed a piece of gum (like that was going to help). I looked for a good spot to pull the Camaro over.
Blinded by all the lights, trying to see the poe poe as he aproached the car. Licence and paper work. He old me that I passed his supervisor and was told he had to pull me over. Going 55 in a 45 zone.

I was a bit nervous, so I thought I am pulling out all the stops. I pushed the OnStar Hands Free Calling Button and called my 10 year old. I told I am just around the corner; however the poe poe has detained me for a minute and I would be there in afew. At that moment Johnny Law had returned and heard the conversation. Then compliements me on the sweet my ride was. This only a warning, and sounds like you better hurrry home. However not too fast.

He also said he would get in trouble with a car like this. He commented that he was hunting bigger game than me tonight. He wanted someone going a faster, and I was within his limits barely.
Tonight I give a little to the poe poe.

10 year old wasn't in car. He was driving to meet with her. But never-the-less. Drinking and driving is no good.

Well, he didn't say how many drinks he had. If only 2 , he would be legal and ok most likely.

I'm sure the police officier would have noticed if he was truly intoxicated!

Not to justify about drinking and driving, However 4 beers in a 3 1/2 hour time frame. I never claimed to be a Saint; and God forbid anynoe who has ever had a beer and drove their car.

If I had more to drink, and was not in my right mind, I would have had my 10 year old daughter dropped off at the watering hole to drive me home.
Better her to get a ticket for not having a licence, than me getting a DUI.

I new this thread may open a can of worms, however I thought it was a great story about how cool some of our local LEO's getting bashed all the time. Maybe it was the power of the Camaro .

If I had been driving a beater, would I have gotten the same .

I am also thinking about how exceptance speech I should be preparring for The Idiot Parent of the Year Award.

Thank you for reading my weekend humor. Time to go do a MOD.

I hope all of you who really jumped on him lead your life as an example to us all. Your stellar lives make you a role model for all of us. And surely you would openly admit if you were not.

The guy made a judgement call and hopefully was prepared to live with the consequences.

On the surface, I agree it appears many of us would not do this - or at least tell anyone they did.

If it was my side of the family, I would have been there. However I have been been divorced from The Other Side for many years now.

My daughter has 2 homes. It just happened to be my week, and she wanted to go the other house for a couple of hours to the Bday party. I was granted a Hall Pass so to speak.Hanging out withe X's is not my thing.
it's not about parenting skills. The moral of the story was:
Camaro and a little help from my OnStar call to my daughter to distract the poe poe. Also to let everyone know that all COPs are people too. The power of the Camaro had hypnotised Johnny into telling me to have a good evening.
I guess it's all lost in translation sometimes.

Well since posting this I have almost completed a cup hilder light MOD.
Just need to tap into the power source.
