You present a 32 year old race as an example?

They were still wearing lap belts and driving at half the speeds that they are capable of now back then (yes, that was being sarcastic, not factual).

This is why I guess I'll never understand the mindset of a NASCAR fan. Watching a race to see if there is a wreck would be like watching football just to see if someone gets a spinal injury.

Spoken like a true Formula 1 fan ....
You just don't understand that a wreck during the course of racing is part of the sport. Waiting for someone to come around the track to intentionally wreck him is unsportsmanlike and should not be tolerated.

Um, based on your response not only do you and I understand it, but we are in agreement.

You DID actually read my posts, right? You just said the very same thing that I did.

I am surprised Joe Gibbs compromises his integrity by having someone like K(R)yle drive for him...I thought Coach Gibbs was better than that...

He could have killed someone with that stupid move.
+1

I totally agree...K(R)yle takes it too far with the 'boys have at it' mantra that NASCAR has going on....he is a danger to everyone he races with and should be removed!!!

I was responding to your comment about not understanding NASCAR fans. To me a NASCAR fan goes to the race to watch the race. The wrecks are part of the race unless it is intentional. You seem to think that NASCAR fans just want to see wrecks.
Sorry if I misunderstood your post.

JGR gives him a ride because he is one of the most talented drivers on the circuit right now. Kryles temperment is what costs him wins... Either way, I enjoy watching him race, he does things with his cars that only a handful of drivers can. I don't have a clear driver that I have a rooting interest in...but I definately like seeing him in the mix because he can be exciting to watch.

He already did once, and NASCAR fined Richard Childress I think $150,000 dollars for it. Richard was quoted to say it was the best $150,000 he had ever spent.

He is not bada$$ like Earnhardt, Smoke, Harvick, and others are...he can dish it out, but he can't take it and runs away like a big baby when he doesn't want to talk to the media

NASCAR should park him before he kills someone!!!

That's my rant for tonight...carry on with your C5 viewing and posting!

I can't believe they let him go back on the track after that crap he pulled.... I like how he stayed in the car.... probably afraid someone was gonna come .

Did you catch what Harvick said after the race about him?

To some of the previous posts...there a difference between bump to pass/rubbing and wrecking your car, then waiting for that person to come around again to wreck him in retaliation after the fact...thereby almost taking out other racers.

Not that that hasn't happened before, but anyone that did do it was an idiot. I don't recall Earnhart ever doing anything like that. He bumped and rubbed and sent quite a few people into the wall, and I don't think he ever did what Kyle did in this case. He took his lumps when it happened to him and pretty much said "that's racin'".

yeah, I can't believe he pulled that stuff... under CAUTION! Not to mention the track workers that could have been hit while he pulled that stunt.... can't believe they didn't kick him out or penalize.... if I ever win the lotto, I think I'm writing another $150K check to Richard Childress
