You are right, there are crazy and silly laws across the country and the world. I doubt this it will become law, but I didn't think any state was incompetent enough to judge the pollution of cars by something as silly as CARB EO numbers over actual testing of its exhaust.

Complete and utter I-R-O-N-Y.

Great weather...But you have to give up your personal freedoms for it and it makes your poloticians crazy. Somebody tell them they are not solar powered and to get out of the sun--its frying their brains.

HOW DUMB CAN THEY BE??!??

A dark INTERIOR will absorb more sunlight and convert this light into heat more quickly, regardless of the EXTERIOR color of the car.

In addition, the rate that a car's interior can absorb sunlight is less when it is being driven not only because of the changing angle of light, but also because the presence of a body in the driver's seat means that approximately 25% less of the black interior is exposed to sunlight.

I hope to heck they didn't spend any taxpayer money on this. This is elementary school science for freak sakes...

i'm not surprised at the idiocy of our fine politicians in california. some of them wanted a ban on dihydrogen monoxide not too long ago.
Hahahaha I tried that actually... I started talking it up with friends.... "Did you hear that they have discovered that Coca-Cola contains dihydrogen monoxide?" Even better, try saying that you've heard that you just found out that (your favorite lake or river) is now polluted with dihydrogen monoxide...

Would white rally stripes make up for the 20% reflection requirement?

Well, I would assume that it is GIGANTIC....seems most of that state is sparking up! My Gawd, what a freaking joke. If you are a sane person still living in Kalifornia, I have only one suggestion: Get out now!( or LOCK AND LOAD!)

Just another reason why California makes America look stupid.

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."
