if it's off it shouldn't drain the battery. It would be just like having an aftermarket stereo connected but off.

I'm old...no idea what that is... I do know that anything that is charging anything is going to drain charger

Thanks for the tip. It's nice though because the holder for it can stay in the window, and it relocates the charge port into the back of the holder. so when ever i turn the car off i can just pop the Gps off of it, and walk. I like it. It's just when I pop the GPS of of the holder, it is just sitting there in the window still plugged in so I was just wondering if that would bring down my battery. I guess I will find out.
