Ladybugsmom has one up, she got my last (Swigert, instead of Lovell).

Quote she had put up:
"I like people who shake other people up and make them feel uncomfortable."

Her quote sounds familiar to me, but not sure where from... possibly George Carlin (but don't think it was)?

Could it be a female musician? It kinda' sounds like a woman who is serious for her own materials and appreciates criticality in other musicians. So how 'bout Madonna?

Possibly not, but we need to examine each proposal as if it were. Tain't easy, McGee (as my father was wont to say). I wonder the derivation of THAT expression, but not now. We have other fish to fry.

Could the quote be from a more thought filled singer/songwriter like Patty Smith?

Baesd on the hints, and that I think it was from either late '60's or '70's, I have multiple guesses, but they prolly are all wrong lol. (don't think it is John Lennon - doesn't sound right)

Bob Marley or Jim Morrison (possibly John Belushi, but doubt you would have narrowed it to only a musician if it was him). Leaning toward Morrison as Marley would be more apt to want to make people comfy rather than un-comfy ... and afterall, people are strange.
